The Washington Post - Facebook takes down a large network of pages tied to former Trump chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon for misinformation

today

The seven pages, which had a total of over 2.45 million followers, and used the “Stop the Steal” messaging, were flagged for Facebook by the progressive group Avaaz on Friday night.

The move comes just days after Bannon was permanently banned from Twitter after alleging that President Trump should quickly execute Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert. ...

The Washington Post - Trump administration removes head of federal climate program that oversees key reports

today

The White House removed the official in charge of the federal program that produces the U.S. government’s definitive reports on climate change ...

The official, Michael Kuperberg, a climate scientist who had been executive director of the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) since July 2015, was told Friday evening to return to his previous position as a scientist at the Energy Department.

He had been expected to stay on through the production of the fifth edition of the congressionally mandated National Climate Assessment.

The climate assessment examines the present-day harms that climate change is having on the United States and makes projections about future damage down to the local level from greenhouse-gas emissions from burning fossil fuels. ...

The Washington Post - Opinion - Trump is now sabotaging national security to soothe his bruised ego

today

So this will be President Trump’s parting gift to the nation: He is deliberately sabotaging the national security of the United States.

His refusal to accept the results ... has taken an insidious new turn now that his political appointee in charge of authorizing the start of the Biden transition is refusing to give the okay. ...

Emily Murphy, as administrator of the General Services Administration, has the formal task of “ascertaining” the winner of the election.

She’s a longtime public servant who, I’m told, justifiably fears the wrath that Trump would bring down on her if she authorizes the transition.

Hopefully she can be persuaded that avoiding another 9/11, or its equivalent, is worth getting fired or flamed by Trump.

But make no mistake: This delay is Trump’s doing. ...

Biden plans immediate flurry of executive orders to reverse Trump policies

President-elect Joe Biden is planning to quickly sign a series of executive orders after being sworn into office on Jan. 20, immediately forecasting that the country’s politics have shifted and that his presidency will be guided by radically different priorities.

He will rejoin the Paris climate accords [...] and he will reverse President Trump’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization. He will repeal the ban on almost all travel from some Muslim-majority countries, and he will reinstate the program allowing “dreamers,” who were brought to the United States illegally as children, to remain in the country, according to people familiar with his plans.

I guess the WaPo can also now start thinking about retiring its "Democracy dies in darkness" tagline.

And it was Fox that cut them off, which seems to be Trumps favorite channel. Maybe not anymore. Twitter is also posting warnings on many of his posts now.

I guess if he hasn't conceded now, he never will, and will never accept the result. Guessing he won't be at Bidens inauguration.

Surprise!

The New York Times - Barr Hands Prosecutors the Authority to Investigate Voter Fraud Claims

today

WASHINGTON - Attorney General William P. Barr, wading into President Trump’s unfounded accusations of widespread election irregularities, told federal prosecutors on Monday that they were allowed to investigate “specific allegations” of voter fraud before the results of the presidential race are certified.

Mr. Barr’s authorization prompted the Justice Department official who oversees investigations of voter fraud, Richard Pilger, to step down from the post within hours, according to an email Mr. Pilger sent to colleagues that was obtained by The New York Times.

Mr. Barr’s directive ignored the Justice Department’s longstanding policies intended to keep law enforcement from affecting the outcome of an election.  ...

Possibly Barr wants to keep his job for just a little bit longer ...   😐

Good job, every time that silly girl opens her mouth it's just lies lies lies.

I think Trump loves One America network or something now. That, and Breitbart.

Personally, I'm all for a non-partisan examination of the election results.

I wouldn't be surprised if there has been illegal voting, but I'm picking that 90% of it will have been done by Trumpers.

Plus, any recounting done will not swing the election in Trump's favour. It's like he thinks an extra million votes will magically be plucked out of thin air, showing that he won.

Or something.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the pro-Trumpers' reaction to the election.

Just think how boring and uneventful it might have been if Trump and his cronies had been all smiley, gracious and congratulatory in defeat.

As it is, we can now look forward to months of entertainment as we watch more and more sourpuss dials being layered with egg, copious tears (some crocodilian), sackcloth and ashes being flung over balding heads and best of all, the frantic efforts of the Orange A-Hole as he attempts to rewrite history, with absolutely no bluddy show of doing it!
