The New York Times - President Trump makes brief appearance at Group of 20, but skips pandemic meeting
today
In an alternate universe where there is no coronavirus pandemic ...
On Saturday, Mr. Trump briefly participated in a virtual Group of 20 summit from the Situation Room.
But he was not listed as a participant at a sideline event at the conference on “Pandemic Preparedness and Response.”
Speakers at the event included Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, and Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany.
Instead, Mr. Trump continued the post-election weekend routine he has settled into.
He sends out a tweet with a new, empty promise of “fraud” revelations and then heads to his Virginia golf course.
It was the third weekend in a row that he has done so. ...
Since the election, Mr. Trump has taken no questions from reporters. But he has played golf on Nov. 7, 8, 14, 15 and 21.
The country's in the very best of hands 😕

Apparently those two behaved themselves all week so Nurse Ratched said it was ok.

The Washington Post - In scathing opinion, federal judge dismisses Trump campaign lawsuit in Pennsylvania
breaking
A lawsuit brought by President Trump’s campaign that sought to block the certification of Pennsylvania’s election results was dismissed by a [Republican!] federal judge on Saturday evening.
U.S. District Judge Matthew W. Brann granted a request from Pennsylvania Secretary of State to dismiss the suit, which alleged that Republicans had been illegally disadvantaged because some counties allowed voters to fix errors on their mail ballots.
The judge’s decision was a thorough rebuke of the president’s sole attempt to challenge the statewide result in Pennsylvania.
Brann wrote that Trump’s campaign had used “strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations” in its effort to throw out millions of votes.
“In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state,” Brann wrote. ...
(Rudy Giuliani said that he would appeal the decision and expected the case to reach the Supreme Court. Surprise! 🙂)

Batman:gzt:Trump captured zero faithless electors last time according to this and lost a couple:

Trump is more likely to lose a few Republican delegates than gain any Democrat delegates. No doubt team Trump will attribute any losses to the conspiracy theories.
umm let me get this straight - so the electors can cast vote for whoever the heck they want? so what's the point of the elections?

They rely on a constant supply of people like that to fight in their endless wars, so it balances out in the end.

That's one thing the US, and for that matter many other otherwise not-too-functional countries, still have, an independent and fairly headstrong judiciary. It's only when your courts look like this that you need to worry.

The WH senior legal advisor's view a couple of days ago:
Giuliani needled an opposing lawyer, calling him "the man who was very angry with me, I forgot his name".
He mistook the judge for a federal judge in a separate Pennsylvania district who rejected a separate Trump campaign case: "I was accused of not reading your opinion and that I did not understand it."
And he tripped himself up over the meaning of "opacity".
"In the plaintiffs' counties, they were denied the opportunity to have an unobstructed observation and ensure opacity," Giuliani said.
"I'm not quite sure I know what opacity means. It probably means you can see, right?"
"It means you can't," said US District Judge Matthew Brann.
"Big words, your honour," Giuliani said.
Doofus and the Ghoul make a great team.
So...Trump just can't go running crying to the Supreme Court over this? Surely that Amy woman would listen to him?
I did see on CNN however that if he wants to do this, he needs to do it quickly, as I believe the results in Pennsylvania are certified on Tuesday our time.

The Ghoul was a pitbull attorney in his day, and rode the coattails of that to the NY mayoralty on a law-and-order platform. Looks like age has caught up with him.

cyril7:quickymart:Jesus, he has some really dense followers. He could tell them the moon was made of cheese and they would argue it until they're blue in the face.
Of more concern is that his followers are just short of 50% of the US population according to a recent election result.
Does this not tell us something is totally out of wack in the US mind set that is in contrast with the rest of the western world.
Cyril
The worst thing about this is even if Trump were to persuade the courts to ignore the lack of evidence and overturn the result, meanwhile he appears to be nothing to fight an ever worsening COVID situation in the USA. There is perhaps some cruel justice in that Trump supporters appear to be suffering the most from the virus, because they ignore social distancing, think wearing a mask impedes their Constitutional rights, and that it is all a conspiracy led by Bill Gates designed to inject nanobots into their bloodstream that will compel them to revoke Trump and believe in Biden. If only it were that easy to turn a moron into an intelligent person.
