Until recently I'd though it was only a large chunk of the US population that had deified a loathsome crook, but I see now that Sky News Australia has joined the worshipers. How does this lunacy benefit Australia? Or Murdoch?

If you haven't yet checked out the vitriolic vomit, go to YouTube and search for Sky News Australia. The below headline is typical.

"Sky News host Alan Jones says putting Joe Biden in the position of "leading the world's democracies" is "elder abuse" and there must be a "presidential resignation" soon."

Q. How old is Rupert Murdoch?

A. 12 years older than Biden.

Australians should be grateful that this malignant Australian fossil is now a naturalized American citizen.   😕

Not a happy judge...

Law and order: Michigan Judge Refuses to Allow Sidney Powell, Lin Wood, and Other ‘Kraken’ Attorneys to Skip Sanctions Hearing

Mere hours after lawyers for the so-called “Kraken” litigation to overturn the 2020 presidential election asked to skip attending an upcoming sanctions hearing, a federal judge in Michigan refused to budge from her earlier order.

Those “Kraken” lawyers must personally attend those proceedings via Zoom.

One of the most visible efforts to torpedo the 2020 presidential election results, the “Kraken” team is the name given by pro-Donald Trump lawyer Sidney Powell to lawsuits meant to overturn President Joe Biden’s victories in Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Georgia. The emphatic failure of that heady and multi-armed legal offensive has left a hangover—with potential serious consequences—for every lawyer who participated in it. The State of Michigan and the City of Detroit have requested heavy sanctions for the “Kraken” lawyers, up to their referral for disbarment proceedings.

The Washington Post - Rudy Giuliani suspended from practicing law in D.C. court

today

The D.C. Court of Appeals has temporarily barred Rudolph W. Giuliani from practicing law, following a similar decision in New York.

A committee of judges in New York determined last month that Giuliani was unfit to keep practicing law after he “communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large” while representing former president Donald Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with their efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

A day after the ruling, disciplinary counsel in D.C. recommended suspending Giuliani’s license in D.C. until the New York case is resolved. On Wednesday the D.C. Court of Appeals agreed.

Neither decision is final, but disciplinary proceedings can last for years and could ultimately lead to sanctions including stripping an attorney of their law license. The New York committee found that an interim suspension was warranted because Giuliani’s conduct “immediately threatens the public interest.” ...

"Rudy gets "disbarred" every night when they throw him out at closing time."   🙂

Is Alan Jones Alex's cousin maybe? They're probably kindred spirits.

Also LOL at that screaming-for-donations page. @Sideface please tell me that wasn't you donating $100 to the orange buffoon?

Trump and his representatives: Twitter censorship bad. Parler censorship good.

The Verge: Parler reportedly refused to ban Trump’s critics as part of discussions to bring him onboard

...In an excerpt from “Donald Trump’s January 6: The view from inside the Oval Office,” published in New York Magazine on Monday, Wolff wrote that Trump’s representatives approached Parler when Trump was in office, proposing that he join the platform once he left the White House.

Parler is a right-wing website that was popular with pro-Trump extremists around the time of the Capitol riots on January 6.

“They had floated a proposition that Trump, after he left office, become an active member of Parler, moving much of his social-media activity there from Twitter,” Wolff wrote.

Under their proposal, Trump would receive 40% of Parler’s gross revenues, and Parler “would ban anyone who spoke negatively about him,” Wolff wrote.

“Parler was balking only at this last condition,” he wrote.

AZ Central: Did Trump and his allies interfere with the Arizona's Maricopa County election? Arizona's Secretary of State Katie Hobbs wants an inquiry

"Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs on Wednesday asked Attorney General Mark Brnovich to open a criminal investigation into possible efforts by former President Donald Trump and his allies to influence Maricopa County supervisors as the ballots were still being tallied.

Hobbs said some of the communications 'involve clear efforts to induce supervisors to refuse to comply with their duties,' which could violate Arizona law. She cited The Arizona Republic’s reporting last week on text messages and voicemails from the White House, Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward to the Republican members of the Board of Supervisors.

'The reporting also includes firsthand statements from the victims of this potential crime,' Hobbs said. She cited at least one potential felony charge under Arizona law."

TRUMP SUES EIGHTY-ONE MILLION VOTERS FOR BANNING HIM FROM WHITE HOUSE

PALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report)—Claiming that he has been “treated very unfairly,” Donald Trump is suing the eighty-one million Americans who voted to ban him from the White House.

“This was all part of a Big Tech conspiracy,” he said. “Many of these eighty-one million people were users of Facebook, Twitter, and TicketyTock.”

Trump called the decision by eighty-one million people to ban him from the White House “a bad thing. A very bad thing.”

“This would mean that millions of totally unqualified Americans are allowed to decide who gets to use the White House and who doesn’t,” he said. “This should never be allowed to happen in this country.”

The lawsuit was delayed for several weeks, sources said, while Trump sought to determine which, if any, of his attorneys still had a law license.

The Guardian: Trump told chief of staff Hitler ‘did a lot of good things’, book says
  • Remark shocked John Kelly, author Michael Bender reports

  • Book details former president’s ‘stunning disregard for history’
...

Bender reports that Trump made the remark during an impromptu history lesson in which Kelly, a retired US Marine Corps general, “reminded the president which countries were on which side during the conflict” and “connected the dots from the first world war to the second world war and all of Hitler’s atrocities”.

...Bender says unnamed sources reported that Kelly “told the president that he was wrong, but Trump was undeterred”, emphasizing German economic recovery under Hitler during the 1930s.

“Kelly pushed back again,” Bender writes, “and argued that the German people would have been better off poor than subjected to the Nazi genocide.”

Interesting excerpt from medium.com (link below)

“Since leaving office, a flood of information has been gradually coming to light about what was going on inside Trump’s administration, his state of mind and behavior, and a silent assault on American democracy that makes many of us wonder just what else there is that we don’t know about. Perhaps some of the more disturbing revelations took place towards the end of Trump’s presidency, as he became increasingly desperate to hold onto power. At this point, even some of Trump’s staunchest enablers and defenders, such as former Attorney General William Barr — who had gone along this far along on the “Trump train”— was starting to feel the magnitude of the dangerous path that Trump was charting the nation. In an interview with The Atlantic, Barr explained what was happening behind the scenes in his own words:

“If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bullshit.”

In the interview with The Atlantic, Barr revealed the confrontation that took place between him and Trump after Barr was quoted in The Associated Press as saying there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud. The exchange revealed between Barr and Trump really hit home on just how insane and unhinged the then occupant of the Oval Office was:

Trump brought up Barr’s AP interview.

“Did you say that?”

“Yes,” Barr responded.

“How the (gz censored) could you do this to me? Why did you say it?”

“Because it’s true.”

The president, livid, responded by referring to himself in the third person: “You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump.”

The president of the United States, defying all reason, evidence, logic, and potentially even the law, was berating his own Attorney General for refusing to baselessly attack the results of the election and assist in his efforts to thwart the peaceful transition of power. And he was doing it by referring to himself in the third person, as if he was a Fox News host responding to a guest criticizing the president. This was the state of mind of the man who was leading the United States government.”

TRUMP SPOTTED CHECKING MAILBOX FOR REINSTATEMENT NOTICE

PALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report)—Neighbors of Donald J. Trump said that he checks his mailbox “many times a day”.

Mel and Tracy Klugian, who have lived next door to Mar-a-Lago for the past twenty-seven years, said that Trump starts checking the mailbox first thing in the morning, often still dressed in his bathrobe and slippers.

“I told him that the mail doesn’t come until three most days, but he said he don’t mind waiting,” Mr. Klugian said.

According to Mrs. Klugian, Trump told her his reinstatement notice could be coming “any day now,” and he doesn’t want to miss it.

“When the mail truck comes, he gets real excited,” she said. “But he usually winds up with a bunch of Pottery Barn catalogues and whatnot.”

Mr. Klugian said that he sympathized with Trump because he remembered checking the mail a lot when he first retired.

“Hey, if you don’t have much to do, the mail becomes kinda the high point of your day,” he said. “He needs to get into gardening or volunteering or something. He can’t go on like this.”
