The swing to the religious right is only going to accelerate.

The Dems will lose control of both houses in the mid-terms and the presidency in 2024. It's a foregone conclusion with the economy tanking and petrol prices at an all time high. We may not see another Trump presidency but it will be hard right whoever gets in.

Don't be surprised if the SC overturns the right to same sex marriage within the next few years with the final target of making homosexuality a crime a possibility.

Yup. It's not pro life and never has been, it's pro birth. The US has the third worst child mortality rate in the OECD, just barely better than Mexico, and the worst in the G20.

A more dramatic way of putting it is that the US already kills more infants than any other first world country. Forcing the production of even more babies will just make this worse.

The Democrats are still trying to play by the rules, it's the Retrumplicans who believe in doing things by any means necessary. In particular if they stack the court the Retrumplicans can just re-stack it once they get back into power and undo the previous decision(s). It only works if both sides agree to play by the rules, once one side pushes them aside to advance their agenda by any means necessary the system falls apart.
