In case you're wondering why this is a case will be decided by the Judge without a jury, Trump's lawyers screwed up and didn't request a jury trial. While it may be by intention, it's likely Trump's lawyers screwed up.

I expect Trump's lawyers advice this week: "We lost. Just shut the f__k up, and walk away with some of your grace intact."

But when has the Trump family listened to legal advice.

A contempt of court charge would be putting a hat on a hat.

Finger crossed, all of them put in handcuffs?

CNBC: Trump and his adult children expected to be called to testify in New York fraud trial

New York Attorney General Letitia James plans to call former President Donald Trump and three of his adult children to testify at his civil fraud trial.

Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump are among the 28 names on James’ list of witnesses to be called in the case.

Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron ruled this week that Trump, his sons and his company were liable for fraud in how they valued numerous real estate properties and other assets.
...
Also on James’ list are Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer and personal lawyer, and Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization.

Defense lawyers in the case submitted their own list of 128 witnesses, which also includes Trump and his two oldest sons.

The two lists were filed Wednesday to Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron.

A day earlier, Engoron ruled that Trump, his sons and the company were liable for fraud in how they valued numerous real estate properties and other assets.

That searing ruling also stripped the defendants and the Trump Organization of their business certificates, and sanctioned multiple defense attorneys for repeatedly making frivolous arguments.

Six other claims of action against the defendants remain to be decided by Engoron, who will conduct the trial without a jury.

Is Trump playing nice and sucking up in hope of a lesser jail sentence?

“This decision is based on his well-founded confidence that this Honorable Court intends to fully and completely protect his constitutional right to a fair trial and guarantee him due process of law throughout the prosecution of his case in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia,” Trump attorney Steven Sadow wrote in the filing Thursday.

That's as per his lawyer, though. I highly doubt Trump personally would have ever, ever written anything so flattering. He's used to people greasing up to him to get something, not the other way around 😀

Trump’s civil fraud trial over accusations that he inflated the value of his properties by billions of dollars will likely begin Monday after a New York appeals court rejected the former president’s attempt to delay it.

In case you missed it, Trump called the judge, a black woman, racist.

One of Trump's lawyers attempted to argue that Mr. Trump could not have committed fraud because the banks made money off the loans and the former president never missed a payment.

Trump Jr, attempting to help added, "Yeah, I can't be punished for buying controlled substances because my drug dealers made money off my cocaine purchases, and he never missed getting my party invites."

His lawyer needs to check a mirror, he's got some brown on his nose.

The NY Times - Opinion - Hail to the Fraudster in Chief

28 Sep 23

What’s remarkable about Engoron’s finding that Trump committed large-scale fraud is what it says about the man who became president and the voters who supported him. ...

I’d like to predict that this ruling will finally destroy Trump’s public persona.

In reality, however, his supporters will probably brush this ruling off, partly because they’ll view it as the product of a left-wing conspiracy, and partly because few of those who backed him will be willing to admit that they were taken in by a charlatan.

Ironically "Stockholm syndrome" got its name from a failed bank robbery.

WTNH news: What is Stockholm syndrome? It started 50 years ago with a bank robbery
...
WHAT IS STOCKHOLM SYNDROME?

It refers to the bond that can develop between hostages and their captors in hostage-taking and kidnapping situations. In some cases, hostages may develop sympathies for their captors and their cause — and even turn against the police. Rather than a diagnosis of a disorder, experts describe it as a psychological coping mechanism used by some hostages to endure being held captive and abused.

If, as expected, he is the GOP candidate I wonder who he will choose as running mate?

Which is a typical example of the MANHATTAN SYNDROME.

And what is the MAN-HAT-TAN SYNDROME? Best described in this children's verse...

There was an old man who invented a hat
And sold it to suckers along with some chat
That convinced them the man was a very cool cat
But it turned out the guy was a criminal rat

I did not for an instant think Trump could write something like that. I was using his name in the editorial 'we' sense, as in the lawyer, with Trump's knowledge and consent, was sucking up on Trump's behalf. It sounds to me like a ploy to try to win brownie points with the court by coming across meek and cooperative. Of course this has not been Trump's style, but Trump has not been faced with the kinds of consequences he now is. Maybe the lawyers have persuaded him to tone it down a few notches. I don't think the statement cited above would have been issued by the lawyer without Trump having at least seen it and given it cursory approval.

Mmm, I didn't think he had any mates. If they had any sense they would have run already!

Who would be stupid / deluded / desperate enough to want to work with a Narcissistic career criminal in his declining years with multiple well-publicized and well-resourced prosecutions pending at state and federal level?

Stay tuned.  😜
