freitasm:  Trump is going full Nazi.

Raw Story - Trump 'going full-on Hitler' with 'vermin' remarks

13 Nov 2023

The ex-president made two statements over the weekend - in a Veteran's Day post on Truth Social and at a campaign rally in New Hampshire - smearing his political opponents as "vermin," which is the language Nazis used to dehumanize their enemies and justify genocide. ...

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough condemned Donald Trump's latest "fascist talk" and said the former president was channeling Adolf Hitler.

"As Donald Trump himself knows - what were they called, the Drumpfs?" ... The Drumpfs came here from Germany when just having a name Drumpf and being from Germany was seen as anti-American ... and now we're just going full-on Hitler talking about vermin."

The NY Times - Maryanne Trump Barry, Donald Trump’s Older Sister, Dies at 86

13 Nov 2023

Maryanne Trump Barry, a former federal judge who was an older sister of Donald J. Trump and served as both his protector and critic throughout their lives, has died. ...

Judge Barry’s scathing remarks about her brother were made in a series of audio recordings surreptitiously recorded by Mary Trump in 2018 and 2019 while Ms. Trump was working on the book “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man” (2020).

All he wants to do is appeal to his base. He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this.”

Barry was aghast at how her brother operated as president. “His goddamned tweets and lying, oh my God,” she said. “I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy shit.”

It’s the phoniness of it all. It’s the phoniness and his cruelty. Donald is cruel.”

The Independent: Donald Trump Jr scoffs at Trump Org being ‘sued into oblivion’ at fraud trial: Live updates
...
During his testimony two weeks ago, under questioning from lawyers with the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, Don Jr emphatically denied having anything to do with making his father’s statements of financial condition at the heart of a lawsuit.

His brother Eric Trump and sister Ivanka Trump also denied any involvement in those documents, though evidence appeared to show they were well aware of them.

You'll remember Trump lovin' Florida Judge Aileen Cannon overseeing the criminal case charging Donald Trump with retaining classified document.

Here's what my magic black ball says about a May trial

The Guardian: Judge sets new deadlines that could delay Trump’s classified documents trial
...
The judge put off until March making the fraught decision about whether to actually delay the trial – currently scheduled for next May – but the new timetable she laid out in a nine-page written order gave little scope for the pre-trial process to finish in time.

The order from US district judge Aileen Cannon was positive for Trump, who has made no secret that his overarching legal strategy is to delay beyond the 2024 election in the hopes that winning re-election would allow him to pardon himself or direct the justice department to drop the charges.

ABC News: 'The boss is not going to leave': Proffer videos show ex-Trump lawyers telling Georgia prosecutors about efforts to overturn 2020 election

As part of a plea deal, one of former President Donald Trump's attorneys has told prosecutors in Georgia that she was informed in the wake of the 2020 election that Donald Trump was "not going to leave" the White House -- despite the fact that he had already lost the election and most of his subsequent challenges.

The revelation, along with others, came during a confidential interview the attorney, Jenna Ellis, had with Fulton County investigators. ABC News has obtained portions of videos of the proffer sessions of both Ellis and Sidney Powell, two attorneys who aided Trump's efforts to overturn the election. The videos for the first time reveal details of what they have told law enforcement since agreeing to cooperate last month in the district attorney's election interference case.

Ellis, in her proffer session, informed prosecutors that senior Trump White House official Dan Scavino told her "the boss" would refuse to leave the White House despite losing the election, and alluded to two other instances she said were "relevant" to prosecutors -- but appeared to be prevented from disclosing those in the video portions obtained by ABC News

NBC News: Donald Trump’s Truth Social loses $73m in first year with ‘substantial doubt’ over its future

Former President Donald Trump's Truth Social platform has lost $73 million since it launched in 2022, according to a filing released by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
...
Trump created Truth Social after he was banned from Twitter, now known as X, in the days following the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

The former president often posts on his Truth Social account, repeating the same bombastic language that he used on Twitter when he was president. In recent days, he's been using the platform to attack prosecutors who have charged him with federal crimes.

There are similarities, but they're different people. Note the eye shape (lower lids concave and convex), noses, teeth, hair parting, lower lip fullness.

The Washington Post - Judge allows Trump on Michigan primary ballot as critics try to bar him

14 Nov 2023

A judge on Tuesday ruled Donald Trump can appear on the primary ballot in Michigan, delivering the latest setback to those who contend Trump sparked an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, that bars him from running for president again. ...

The rulings apply only to Michigan, a swing state that Trump won in 2016 and lost in 2020.

Former President Donald Trump said that he would be justified in telling federal prosecutors to go after his political rivals if he wins the White House next year, suggesting it would simply be payback for Democrats doing the same to him.

The two Teflon Dons - John Gotti and Donald Trump

Raw Story - 'Similarities are striking': Analyst links Trump's woes to infamous New York mobster

15 Nov 2023

Former President Donald Trump is headed for a legal reckoning like he has never seen before in 2024 as he mounts another bid for the White House, with multiple criminal trials all over the country.

Indeed, wrote analyst Harlan Ullman for United Press International on Wednesday, Trump is in a similar situation to that of an infamous New York mobster.

"The New Yorker of Trump's generation who combined celebrity status with an avalanche of trials was another Don - the Teflon Don and crime boss John Gotti," he wrote. ...

Gotti was an infamous figure in the '80s, as he stood trial for ordering a hit on a fellow crime boss but beat the rap thanks to bribery and witness tampering.

He was nicknamed the Teflon Don because the feds had difficulty making anything stick to him.

But ultimately his crimes caught up with him in 1990, after wiretaps in his headquarters at the Ravenite Club caught him freely admitting to wrongdoings, which was used to put him in prison for life. ...

"The next year will determine whether Trump is a Teflon or a Velcro Don," concluded Ullman.
