quickymart:These things? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iris_3000_Videophone

From the above Wiki link:

Fraud lawsuit against Donald Trump

The videophones were sold by ACN Inc in a multi-level marketing pyramid scheme. In 2018 investors sued Donald Trump (Doe et al. v. Trump Corp. et al.) for fraud and for denying that he was a paid promoter of this get rich quick scheme.[1] The trial is scheduled for January 29, 2024.

Yet another court case. Excellent.

Sideface: Trump Fascism is a real and present danger in 2024. Should Trump win the next election the result may be horrific. One method of coping with horror is to laugh at it. That is what this cartoonist (Chriss Britt) has done, with mixed success.

I completely agree. It's clear Trump will do anything he can get away with.

The NY Times - Trump’s Most Ambitious Argument in His Bid for ‘Absolute Immunity’

01 Jan 2023

There is almost nothing in the words of the Constitution that even begins to support former President Donald J. Trump’s boldest defense against charges that he plotted to overturn the 2020 election: that he is absolutely immune from prosecution for actions he took while in office.

A federal appeals court will hear arguments on the question next week, and the panel will consider factors including history, precedent and the separation of powers. ...

Mr. Trump also made a slightly narrower but still audacious argument: “A president who is acquitted by the Senate cannot be prosecuted for the acquitted conduct.”

There must be some masochists at Vox. Predicting the future is a fool's game.

I found this video from "The World Economic Forum" Yes, I made sure it is the International Organization, and it's even linked to on their official site.

It's title is literally "A cyber-attack with COVID-like characteristics?"

Betteridge's law of headlines: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

Word of the day: "conflate": combine two or more sets of information into one.

The WEF is conflating a biological virus and a computer virus into one concept, and predicting a catastrophic world economy breaking computer virus.

AlterNet - 'Outlandish and feral': Trump plans to turn DC trial into conspiracy-fueled reality TV show

02 Jan 2024

Donald Trump is planning to turn his federal 2020 election subversion case into a campaign-style conspiracy-theory-fueled reality TV show filled with falsehoods about the “deep state,” Nancy Pelosi, January 6, Antifa, the FBI, and even his former attorneys – and he’s demanding it be televised. ... *

Rolling Stone [free link] calls the defense strategy, “outlandish and feral, even by Trumpland standards, to the point that it’s baffling some of the ex-president’s former lawyers and senior administration officials. "

One person with knowledge of these strategic and legal discussions bluntly describes the plans as a blueprint for staging a ‘MAGA freak show’ at Trump’s federal election subversion trial.

Bring it on!  Using a criminal trial to stage a political campaign ad would be legally detrimental to Trump, and would alienate jurors (and many viewers).  More self-destructive lunacy from the Stable Genius. πŸ˜›

EDIT:  * Cameras have historically not been allowed in federal courtrooms.

He better bring his Piggy Bank or snuggles pillow with him for all the Contempt of Court orders the Judge is bound to issue. No Judge likes their court turned into a circus, not even a Trumpian bias Judge.

I think Rudy Giuliani rationalization is "I did so much good in the past, built so much political capital, that people will overlook anything I do now."

The scary thing is I think Mike Lindell believes all the lies and conspiracies.

It may be the "Sunk Cost Fallacy" or "Confirmation Bias"

I think Patrick thingamajig of overstock.com falls under the same category as Lindell, the former setup (and paid for) that stupid, dubious, pointless audit of the Arizona election results which - hilariously - increased Biden's total by 300-odd votes.

When given this information, Patrick what'shisface said he believed there was still fraud and he would "keep looking for it" πŸ˜†

Forgot to add that I guess it shows there is some true in the age-old adage: "A fool and his money are soon parted", as apparently that "audit" cost a couple of million to complete.

Here we go again. The tone and tenor goes against Trump but he still grows his support.

So much of what I’m reading and hearing are facile arguments and smug attitudes that continue to denigrate Trump supporters without engaging with their real concerns. AFAIK, this is the main reason he slipped through to became President the first time.

Is there a widely popular alternative candidate from either side of the house?

While many economic indicators are positive for Biden, measures of voter attitudes, such as consumer confidence, are generally more negative.

Dubious legal methods to impede him, such as removing him from ballots before he is convicted of insurrection, only strengthens his position.

Rikkitic:

The problem is deplorables see him as one of their own. That is ridiculous of course, but it is what it is. The American system creates lots of losers. These are people without a voice. Now they think they have a voice in Trump. Nothing he does, no crime he commits, no jail time he serves, will put them off. They see these kinds of things as proof that he is being persecuted for serving the cause.
