Sideface:

Delay, delay, delay ...  πŸ™„

as he has asked Speaker Johnson to do on the Ukraine/Israel bill along with Democrats offering by partisan support with a border control bill. all squashed or delayed, simply for political games. Hence the democrats starting the Speaker discharge process.

This highlights how bad Trumpy is for US democracy, derailing effective team work between both parties, but now putting it at risk worldwide. But hey, he will finish building the wall, or start it...... thats worth him currently leading the polls, ugggh

Obama saying nobody is above the law, well that depends on how much corruption there is. If delayed beyond November, if he wins, he will just have himself exonerated.

His comments toward allies will also isolate the US, becoming somewhat autocratic.

So pretty much the entire topic rests on this point, delay.

A long, hilarious lead with a potentially rage-inducing outcome - if the sale plays out, Trump might end up getting off with the proceeds of this sale effectively making the fine a mere annoyance rather than an actual punishment.

I dont think this was ever going to be in doubt. It will impact his wealth but I don't think he cares as much as he cares to getting a criminal conviction.

If the Carroll case had been criminal rather than civil, it is said he would have been up for and likely more than civil sexual abuse.

It seems absurd that 45% of the US does not care about that civil case alone. Its disturbing.

My crystal ball sees him getting off the most important cases due to the Judge that he had appointed when Pres, is happy to have it kept being pushed out.

One can only hope Biden wins. Which if he targets Haley's campaign policies, he should. With a new speaker he should also be able to push through the proposed border bill. a lot really depends on how many Repubs they can pick up on the discharge petition. Get the right speaker in and bills like the tiktk one will fly through, which will hurt Trumps charges greatly.

So if Biden wins, the Ex Pres could be behind bars as of next year. Joe just needs to be strategical now and explain why whats happening in Ua matters. Im sure he has plenty of smart people behind him already looking to pickup the 40% type votes from moderate republicans. Which hopefully offsets the independent RBK Jr which seem to have cost the democrats more.

It really is messed up that somebody can influence legal proceedings this much where an ordinary citizen would be in an orange jump suit by now.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/19/politics/trump-bond-deadline-panic/index.html >> I bet he's panicking! I love to watch him squirm, he so deserves it πŸ˜€

I've one of the reasons he's panicking is surety bonds won't accept "non-liquid" assets as collateral
  • no real estate
  • no equipment
  • no vehicles
  • no art
  • no collectibles
Trump can only put up liquid assets
    cash
  • cash equivalents
  • money market accounts
  • marketable securities
  • short-term bonds
  • accounts receivable.
And he ain't got much in those. I'd be surprised if he had more than a million in liquid assets.

New York attorney general could soon move to seize Trump’s property.

I know what you mean, but personally I think this business of not being able to stump up the bond hurts him more than almost anything. He keeps telling everyone he's a billionaire. He brags about it non-stop, he's got so much cash, he's so rich. This is proof that he's not worth anywhere near as much as he says (and in his head, believes) he is.

I mean sure, he's way richer than you or I would ever be*, but he's going to be humiliated by having his precious Trumpy Towers seized and sold for a five bucks because actually, he's not a billionaire.

*Probably, assuming he's not actually minus several billion due to debts ... in which case actually I am way richer than he is.

Mate its not outside the realms of possible, given how many times has he been bankrupt, twice? Which made me laugh when he said re NaTO, "you gotta pay your bills" . This guy avoids them at all costs. The mere fact he doesnt realise its a guideline and not to mention there are countries ahead of the US GDP spend. Hes going to burn allies and isolate the US, its a tinder box and would be a laugh if it became autocratic, the voters do not realise how seriously in jeopardy their freedom could become. Im hoping Biden explains to the people his connections to Rus, especially after Orban visited him and only him.

I despise that dailydigest slideshow, but they ran through the Haley votes and there is a big Republican no Trump at any cost supposdly.

Biden just needs to implement that "5k max per day or border shuts down" Bill and Im positive  he will sweep up all those moderate Repub voters.

Hes got the money for the fine, Ive been picking hes just deliberately trying to be a martyr about it.

I did see a comment on Facebook along the lines of "I haven't been so looking forward to March 25 in my entire life!". Obviously not a Trump supporter πŸ˜ƒ

"And by 'justice', I mean that I am going to steal all of Donald's Trumps assets, no matter what they are or how much they are worth. I am going to steal Donald Trump's buildings, planes, and cars. I am going to steal Donald Trump's shiny blue suits. I am going to steal Donald Trump's last box of adult nappies. Because I am the president, and by Donald Trump's own arguments, I have absolute immunity to do it. Steal Team Six are on the way. Howd'ya like them apples, poor boy?"

Here's a wierd question I haven't seen asked or answered:

If Trump went to prison for the many things he's allegedly done, would his Secret Service guards go with him?
Would he be stripped of protection as a former president to become just another prisoner in the federal system?

Imagine being a Secret Service agent assigned to the Orange Jumpsuit and spending your shifts in a State Penitentiary.

Maybe he can have the same Guards as Bernie Madoff ?

Even have the same cell...
