Trump has had a big sock shoved in his mouth. He can't comment on anyone associated with his upcoming trial other than the judge himself and the DA.

Just visited the site for this "Bible"

"GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign. GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J Trump, the Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates."

"IS THIS BIBLE OFFICIALLY ENDORSED BY PRESIDENT TRUMP? Yes, this is the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!"

It's laughable that the description is "thin Trump Bible" It's a rare triple oxymoron.

It's funny that evangelicals will say the Bible is immutable, unchanging, because it was written by God who is immutable.

Malachi 3:6 states, “For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.”

...But... if you have a keen eye you'll notice most Bibles have a copyright. Hence the "thin" moniker on the Trump Bible.

The BIble's copyrights must make Disney's copyright lawyers proud.

Selling Jesus.com: The Bondage of the Word: Copyright and the Bible
...
A questionable and “thin” use of the translation provision of the copyright law has been manipulated by certain publishers to create an illusion of “translation” when little or no real translation has occurred.

Translation reflects the original creative work of those who render a text from one language to another. The simple modernization of older English words or expressions to those in current use is not translation, nor is the restructuring of antiquated English syntax into that commonly received. Merely because a rendition ultimately derives from a non-English original is not sufficient ground for presupposing that the modernization of the archaic English text is a primary act of “translation,” regardless of whether the original-language texts are consulted and “diligently compared” during the modernization process.

The Bulwark - MAGAVILLE

27 March 2024

For the first time ever, the road to the White House will run through a criminal courtroom. Jury selection starts April 15 in Donald Trump’s hush money case tied to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Naturally, Trump plans to treat the case as a campaign event. ...

He’ll try to fashion Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg into Joe Biden’s de facto running mate.

And Trump’s legal team hopes to define his former fixer-turned-state’s-witness, Michael Cohen, as a perjurer in service of what Trump has taken to (misleadingly) calling “The Biden Trials.”

Crucial for Trump: the media’s presence will give Trump the ability to instantly drive whatever message he wants.

It’s a circus,” one Trump adviser summed up. “It’s going to be the ultimate media circus. And Donald Trump knows how to be a ringmaster.”

EDIT  (more from MAGAVILLE)

It’s humiliating for Melania,” said one confidant of the former president.

Even Donald Trump spends time in the doghouse, and this is a doozy. There’s no way this won’t make him miserable to be around. Staff will need to tiptoe around him.”

The irony of a Trump bible.

He's a living checklist for the Seven Deadly Sins, the death of the soul and a trip to hell, according to Christian tradition:
  1. Lust: A strong passion or longing, especially for sexual desires.
  2. Gluttony: An excessive and ongoing eating of food or drink.
  3. Greed: An excessive pursuit of material goods.
  4. Sloth: Excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one’s talents.
  5. Wrath: Strong anger and hate towards another person
  6. Envy: The intense desire to have an item that someone else possesses.
  7. Pride: Excessive belief in one’s abilities or qualities.

The Fifth Amendment guarantees several things such against self-incrimination. It's so famously used by mafia gangsters that it's a meme.

In a criminal case (where you can go to jail), it's not an admission of guilt. IN the US, you have the right to stay silent.

In a civil lawsuit, the judge can draw certain adverse inferences against you if you invoke Fifth Amendment privilege. In other words, it assumes that if someone doesn’t want to share something, it’s probably because it would make them look bad.

The High court has ruled disbarment are neither criminal nor civil in nature. It is a disciplinary action taken against a lawyer who has violated professional conduct rules.

Similar to a civil case, during a disbarment proceeding by invoking Fifth Amendment, the bar association can interpret this refusal as an admission of guilt.

NBC News: Election denier who Trump wanted to take over DOJ pleads the fifth amendment in disbarment hearing

An environmental lawyer whom Donald Trump wanted to take over the Justice Department in the days before the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol repeatedly asserted his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during a disbarment hearing on Wednesday.

Jeffrey Clark, a former Justice Department civil lawyer with no criminal law experience, had wanted to investigate a conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was stolen, including via smart thermostats. Just hours before the Jan. 6 attack, Trump nearly made Clark the acting attorney general of the United States but backed off when Justice Department leadership threatened to resign en mass.

Federal authorities searched Clark's home in June 2022, and he now faces criminal charges in Georgia in the state racketeering case against Trump and others. Clark surrendered to authorities in August in that case and entered a not-guilty plea. He is also unindicted co-conspirator no. 4 in the federal election interference case brought by special counsel Jack Smith against Trump.

Clark briefly testified during a disciplinary hearing unfolding this week before the Ad Hoc Hearing Committee for the D.C. Board on Professional Responsibility, which is deciding whether Clark should lose his bar license for his involvement in attempts to overturn Trump's 2020 election loss.

From 2022:

The New Republic: What comic genius gave us the Nest Thermostat election conspiracy?

Did you hear the one about Chinese Communists rigging Nest thermostats to fix the 2020 election?

In video testimony made public last week, Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann told the January 6 select committee that former national security adviser Michael “23 Days” Flynn brought up this conspiracy theory at former President Donald Trump’s now-famous six-hour Oval Office meeting on December 18, 2020.

Present at the meeting were Flynn, Sidney “Release the Kraken” Powell, former Overstock chief executive (and Maria Butina dupe) Patrick Byrne, former New York City mayor turned Bloody Mary fancier and Trump mouthpiece Rudy Giuliani, and assorted comparatively sane White House officials alarmed to learn that these misfits had been admitted entry.

In a White House that one former inmate describes as “a clown car on fire running at full speed into a warehouse full of fireworks,”

The NY Times -  How Trump Moved Money to Pay $100 Million in Legal Bills

27 March 2024

Former President Donald J. Trump has spent more than $100 million since leaving office, on lawyers and other costs related to fending off various investigations, indictments and his coming criminal trials, according to a review of federal records.

The remarkable sum means that Mr. Trump has averaged more than $90,000 a day in legal-related costs for more than three years - none of it paid for with his own money.

Instead, the former president has relied almost entirely on donations made in an attempt to fight the results of the 2020 election. ...  [see  flowchart above]

The account paying Mr. Trump’s legal bills will most likely be out of money by summer at the current spending pace.

Then, Mr. Trump will have to decide: Whose money will he use to pay his lawyers?

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell
