Found this clip on my give-away New Yorker page (I don't have a full sub) and it seems that Bidem has really has done a great job with the US economy, but with only few kudos for his efforts. Damn shame.

Yep, its one of the many bizarre things about American Politics that Republican politicians will speak and vote against measures, vehemently, tossing out the words Socialism etc.
Then...
Come campaign time for re-election they will claim that which 'THEY VOTED AGAINST', as part of their shining success of what they have done for their electorate.
The Republicans taking credit for federal funding they voted against
Rep. Nancy Mace celebrated a public transit project in her district that was made possible by the infrastructure law, which she called a “socialist wish list” and a “fiasco.”

Only 13 House GOP lawmakers voted for the 2021 law to fund roads, rails and bridges, a deal shaped in large part by Senate negotiators whom conservatives mistrust. Some of those 13 left Congress after facing threats from the right and vociferous criticism from former President Donald Trump, who said they should be “ashamed of themselves.” The vast majority of Republicans opposed the bill due to the huge price tag, and many simply didn’t want to give President Joe Biden a win.

Its easy to check, but it seems that the narrow silos, perhaps ever narrower if Rupert Murdoch controls your news goes unnoticed.
I'm sure when our local media fails, and public funding withdrawn, Rupert will be happy to romp in for a price.
Even Elon knows what could potentially happen if the orange buffoon wins:
I think this link to the New Yorker's endorsement of Kamala Harris is available to everyone. Well worth a read.

That's an interesting point, if Trump gets in and starts doing what he's promised, will the military throw a coup to stop him? They've also all sworn an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic".
Trump famously disinterested in reading important briefing documents and pretty much anything thats not just a headline praising him.
If he spent a lot of time reading something it must be very special ?
Something must be very important and close to his heart to be regular reading material.
Nazi leader’s speeches where not very short I gather, so not a headline or couple of bullet points.
Donald Trump 'kept book of Adolf Hitler's speeches in his bedside cabinet'
In a 1990 interview, the billionaire businessman admitted to owning Nazi leader's 'Mein Kampf' but said he had would never read speeches

A 1990 Vanity Fair article about billionaire businessman stated that Mr Trump’s then wife Ivana, said her husband owned a copy of “My New Order” – a printed collection of the Nazi leader’s speeches.
Marie Brenner, the article’s author, wrote: “Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler's collected speeches, 'My New Order', which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed.

I addition to that other writing of Hitler.
By all accounts Trumps father was very interested in this stuff along with KKK, and passed the interest on.
A Russian satirist who once did a cartoon series on life in Russia commented that Putin had taken Russia to a point that it was beyond satire.
Thus with Trump and GOP satire and memes may not stick, as they have gone to a darker place well beyond.

I think the important thing is that satire and memes could have an effect on, not the leaders, but the Maggats and undecideds.

He didn't admit to owning it, he said a Jewish friend gave him a copy. Only it was My New Order not Mein Kampf, and he wasn't Jewish. Apart from that the fact that a book changed hands at least was accurate.
Given that Trump apparently has trouble getting through a single page of text, there's absolutely no chance he'd manage the colossal load of drivel that is Mein Kampf. Even most Germans never read it, it was for virtue-signalling by having it prominently displayed somewhere, not for reading.
Edited to add: Just did a quick check, the two volumes are over 1,000 pages long, no way Trump would read that, particularly since it was speeches from the 1920s and early 30s which would be the same drivel as Mein Kampf. I bet Trump only skimmed a few pages to see if his name was in there.
The Little Red Book at least was brief.

He probably hasn't even read his own books 🤪

Donald Trump has a new outfit to go with his trash talk.
He sure does! Pity he's not addressing the actual comments that "comedian" made, instead of seizing on a Biden gaffe which was quickly corrected.
Not like the orange buffoon ever says a word out of place, is it? 🙄
