MikeB4: I do not think he will make it to the White House.

I think he has a good chance. I hope I'm wrong. If not we will live in the dark ages from next year.

[ 50% of America hate Clinton, swearing never to vote for her. ]

Do you have the polls to show that?

What is your source?

Even without one,

A) she's a woman

B) she's married to an ex-president that all republicans hated.

I for one am very glad that Trumpy has assured us all that he's well endowed. yell

I wonder if any of the ex-Mrs Trumps can confirm his claim?

He misspoke. He wasn't saying he HAS a big dick, he was saying is IS a big dick, which anyone with a pinch of intelligence knew from watching him speak on any topic at ALL in the past 15 years.

MikeB4: <snip> Being a woman is a bad thing???

Women got the vote in New Zealand in 1893 - it took another 27 years for women to get the vote in the USA (in 1920).

The same people who distrusted an African American president - and blocked most of his legislation - would probably also mistrust a female president.

So gender bias could easily favor Trump.

I don't really get you posting that. I consider you well and truly intelligent enough to know that perhaps here it's considered an Asset, but that in the USA that is CONSIDERABLY less true (and this IS a discussion on American Politics).

It's also worth noting that OUR female leaders were truly, truly awful, as was the Australian Female Prime Minister.

I believe if the Republicans had a truly strong (Male) candidate, that Hillary would stand very little chance of getting elected.

Seriously? You know what re(dneck)publicans think of women.

They're the 2 reasons the golden haired clown is winning ATM and the only reason he could be president.

Oh and the fact democrats voted in Obama... In case you missed it, he isn't white, and it turns out lots of people don't like that.

I remember his inauguration and was actually scared he was gunna be topped.

You think the republicans will put up with an african-american and then a woman???

She certainly didn't help things. Mind you, Julia was better than Tone "Loco" Abbott. Sad isn't it?

Sounds like the kind of partisan hate that's tearing America apart right now. Helen Clark held a Labour govt together for 9 years. What has any subsequent male leader of that party done?

Given the topic is "President Trump", the benchmark for truly awful could be about to be set very high. Although Tony Abbott might come close.....

Well I really have to disagree with that. The Shipley government held a steady course. She was the first National Party leader to attend a gay pride parade, and I think left a small legacy there. Clark managed a 10 year run of stable government and left a solid legacy. Gillard, well you may or may not have a point but given the state of the Australian Labour Party at that point it was a bit of a hospital pass and could have gone either way.

Clark in particular to denigrate that level of political achievement I think you should look again.

It's pretty rare to hear people denigrate successful All Blacks at that level of achievement for example.

What interests me about this line of the thread is how the male-centric comments about women seem to imply that there are no woman voters! The statements are all about how 'voters' (at least 'Republican voters') won't accept a female leader for whatever reason. Here is a newsflash, people: half of those voters, including the Republicans, are, in fact, women. Or are you suggesting that little wifie will just stay home or meekly do whatever her all-powerful man tells her to?

I agree. Of the 50% of Republicans that are women, I imagine some would like to see the first women President. As clearly will Democrat women voters.

For the land of the free, there appears to be disenfranchisement of many sectors. Black, Hispanic, women, poor, list goes on. In the nearish future, the white US male will be very much a minority. Then will be joined by all white. Bout time someone ran the country as it was made up of one population, Americans.
