There isn't. But the anti stuff dilutes the ok stuff. He isn't Amin, Hitler, or any other dictator, he is just a mouth

Give him time. He only just got started.

Your over estimating him. Or does GOP have no touch over him, making him near enough to a dictator?

Not addressing you, but IMHO there is so much hate-hype over him, its like the haters are treating him like a god, as in supreme power. I see him as an idiot who will come unstuck.

Correct, he doesn't have the power of a dictator, but he does have the power to do some crazy as stuff, if it gets too ridiculous I suspect the supreme court or congress will intervene. Remember some of his ideas and policies are liked. Not by the left in most cases, but by many members of the GOP. I suspect in a couple of months a lot of these stories will get old.

1) We know hes gonna want to try and build an 8 billion dollar wall, which will probably cost him closer to 40 billion and 16 years to build so he will probably be dead by the time its completed (if it ever is), He will give a contract to one of the companies he or one of his staff own shares in and hire a load of mexicans to do the work.

2) We know he is gonna be super tough on immigration, say some really outrageous stuff. He says a lot of that stuff for the media attention, uproar and to get the really thick people who think its a joke to remember to support him. Then winge about the media when they publish a terrible story.

3) We know he is gonna say a lot of stupid stuff and have Tillerson, Kelly-Anne, Spicer, Pence, Bannon and Madis have to wipe the floor behind him.

The hard left are never gonna let it go. Get used to it, there is 4 more years of this nonsense and I am picking by the end of that, he will probably win a second term.

I feel he will embarrass the US, ridicule himself. he may not, depends how much GOP manage him. Immigration, re moslems will hurt them, trade will hurt them. Short term it will affect many countries, but we will migrate to each other and soft exclude the US, that will be good for the globe. or GOP manage him, and like many utterances/promises they will be diluted or removed. Jail her the obvious one. He appears to be easily managed. Jail her becomes, she has given us a great 30 years of service.

The Hoover Dam did push the country towards its future by bringing energy to the west. A wall? Ok...

And it's only going to cost $12 billion! Just think of the jobs that will create!

Many jobs. 12 billon? Peanuts compared to their GDP and Iraq/Afghanistan expenditure.Add it to their spiralling debt.

This is a Donald Trump thread, it just seems anti-Trump because there aren't a lot of nice things to say about him.

Should he do anything vaguely resembling nice, I'll be the first to give him credit for it. wink

The wall is a good idea, not nice as he has articulated it, but its a sensible idea.

If you were on a business team working for me and made that claim using the available evidence to back it up:

You'd be getting the two word Trump salute:

"You're Fired"

For presenting a sad, pathetic business case. {forget about any ethical issue)

The wall is nuts.  It's solving no problem except in the delusional minds of sycophants, trumpologists, and suckers.

Trump has been elected to a position which has commonly been  known as "Leader of the Free World", yet he's been advocating the resumption of use of torture against his enemies.

This is not some silly but entertaining episode of Game of Thrones or whatever - where the good guys win in the end - he's thoroughly vile, evil, scum - supported by scum.

A mouth with a pen and a crap load of power

Absolutely.

Comparably as frightening as ISIS (unless you're a rich white man) - except much more influential globally.

Anyway what "ok stuff"?

I don't see any "ok stuff" at all, unless you're suggesting that the isolationist "MAGA" chant which has been discredited by every reputable economist in the world as delusionary, so bad even Hitler couldn't get it to work in the end.  Perhaps prayers from Bishop Tamaki will make it work?

Try this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration_to_the_United_States#Total_number_of_illegal_immigrants

Total number of illegal immigrants[edit]

Data from the years of the U.S. recession are being surpassed by current levels. From 2005 to 2009, the number of people entering the U.S. illegally declined by nearly 67%, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, from 850,000 yearly average in the early 2000s to 300,000.[8] FY 2015 DHS data indicates that the decline was a temporary phenonenon, and illegal immigration is climbed back to near-record levels. The 2015 yearly rate of over +1 million also necessitates revising previous estimates of total illegal immigrant population, which by end of 2016 could be expected to reach 13 million.

Wikipedia is not a source.

The last + 1 million figure is a combined number - the bulk of it is actually people with visas who'd not crossed a border illegally, the number that had crossed is an "estimate" which is based on numbers of apprehended, then multiplied (3x).

Of course if Trump simultaneously builds the wall and increase border surveillance, then figures will be produced by DHS to show how effective his policies have been - first a large spike in arrests and deportations.

Even NZ did the same kind of thing once - perhaps you're too young or have forgotten the impact of "dawn raids" in NZ.

The Doomsday Clock has been moved forward - 30 seconds closer to midnight.

This already-threatening world situation was the backdrop for a rise in strident nationalism worldwide in 2016, including in a US presidential campaign during which the eventual victor, Donald Trump, made disturbing comments about the use and proliferation of nuclear weapons and expressed disbelief in the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change

So the numbers are completely wrong by Wiki. So there is no immigration issue there. So who built the wall, and why is it so ineffective? I guess it is not required as there is no immigration issue.

It's not "by wiki" - it's by Wikipedia contributors.  That part of the article you cut and pasted was uncited.  There was other cited information on that page.

Misinterpreting data by comparing figures collated in different ways to present a picture of a massive increase - an invasion of Mexicans jumping the wall is what some would like you believe.  Has there been a recent actual increase in illegal border crossing?  My guess - probably - but probably because if you'd been thinking about jumping the wall to enter the US, then better now than wait.

Mexican workers in Mexico will probably end up paying for construction of the wall indirectly by imposition of a border tax (punitive tariff) on imports of Mexican products.

Trump spokesman Sean Spicer added a stunning new detail about the proposed wall project later Thursday, saying that Trump intended to pay for it by imposing a 20-percent tax on all imports from Mexico.
