I've been watching this thread since it started and only now, in reaction to that tweet, felt the need to say something: Donald Trump, you can't be serious? How offensive are his words? A leader of any country needs to earn respect and he appears to be deliberately trying to alienate people he leads. Doesn't he have advisers or some sort of filter? I really is indistinguishable from satire.....

I suspect Trump has decided 'stuff the people who will never support me'.

I can offend them as much as I like because whatever I do they will never, ever vote for me or give me their approval.

With the extent to which he is demonised by the left he may be thinking what have I got to lose.

I don't agree with this approach IMHO once elected you are there for all citizens to some extent and what he has to lose is the middle ground, whom he could persuade if he behaved reasonably and ethically.

Regarding Trump's insincere speech about black history month, most Americans know Fredrick Douglass only as part of a list of famous African American

Trump's list African Americans: Martin Luther King, Fredrick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks

It has as much value as listing Santa's reindeers.

I also don't buy in to the "whataboutism" propaganda about "what Obama did. While US foreign policy has sucked for > 1/2 century, Obama inherited Bush's disastrous legacy - and Trump did support Bush's invasion of Iraq.

I very strongly believe that you've been taken in by a false prophet. Time will tell.

If you find that photos of the faces of dead children killed as collateral damage in military action "disgusting" - then perhaps instead of blaming "the left" or "Obama" - think about the future that Trump may well be bringing.

Perhaps those people aren't from "the left" at all - you've clearly missed the point of my post - which is that the people most likely to (mis)use that image for political purposes are the extremists themselves. Trump just handed them a gift - a tool for radicalising new recruits.

Obama did inherit bushes legacy but instead of stopping it he continued and pushed further.

I have not been "taken in" I had hoped the same thing of Obama but sadly his bloody legacy will continue and I have never once blamed the left I squarely blamed Obama administration for Libya, Syria and Yemen.

"The left" is never an argument I have ever used I myself am somewhat of a leftest libertarian. Infact one of the larger leftest youtube contaminators agrees with me.

Think about Bannon's statements on record where he states that war is coming against all islam (not just ISIS), his condemnation of secularism - and ask yourself why he wants the GOP to "go nuclear" to confirm a conservative christian fundamentalist judge to the SCOTUS with great urgency.

He might not be able to get past "wise generals" to directly initiate war against islam, but it's more than just "conjecture" that his goal is to bring about a "final showdown". It's what Bannon argues for.

So far nobody has been able to stop him - to the point that there's an alt:right authoritarian racist lunatic as the President's right hand man.

He can't last a year....you dont treat your closest allies like this. I am assuming it to be a factual report as it was from Washington Post. They are also speaking tough with Iran.
