Perfect timing. A judge has just banned Trump's ban, and has done it in such a way that it can't be put off. It looks like  the border authorities are now making moves to let the people in who were affected. Sanity prevails, at least for the time being.

Still bigger issues on the horizon. however what he did violates the constitution and he took an oath to uphold and protect it. I suspect a case is being built for impeachment. Pence won't be much better but at least he will act more like a politician than a rogue.

JayADee: Make sure you read or listen to the whole (longer) article. You can either read or listen to it on sound cloud from https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/03/how-to-build-an-autocracy/513872/

Sobering stuff. Maybe social networking sites outside the USA like Geekzone will have a role in keeping truth alive and combatting the troll armies.

Trump doesnt care what people say or think...he only cares for himself. Its a circus and is going to touch us all in a bad way unless the American people stand up to him and create anarchy.

I don't agree. He cares what the people who voted for him say and think. He told everyone what he planned to do and he's doing it. That's what the people who voted for him wanted him to do.

I don't see anything insane about deciding you do not want people from X country to enter your country - that surely is a right all sovereign nations have.

It'll probably be appealed and overturned - or implemented in another way.

I think impeachment is likely at some stage, but will the republicans do it? It allegedly only took 8 days for Trump to get a negative approval rating with Americans, which is apparently the fastest ever ever. Obama took over 900 days, and both Bushes were over 1000 days. I do think it would be in the best interests of the world to replace him with Pence, at least short term. The fact that a Judge has done this, must be very embarrassing for the entire US system, and shows a major problem.

You are missing the point, which has been made many times in many places. Trump is not saying he doesn't want people from X country. He is saying he doesn't want Muslim people from X country. Christians are fine with him.

Has he actually said he is banning Muslim people?

He said he was banning people from certain countries until he decided what to do about them. Then he went on to point out in other comments that he would give priority to 'persecuted' Christians and specifically mentioned Syria, which is one of the countries included in his ban. Most people have taken this to mean that his ban is actually aimed at Muslims, who make up the majority population of the countries he has banned.

And a federal judge has blocked the order and has said all people with visa's must be let into the country . looks like the attorney general was right when she was fired after saying the order was unlawful . Trump wont be happy , get the popcorn.

Trump campaigned on banning Muslim people from entering the US.

(New York, NY) December 7th, 2015, -- Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on. According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. Most recently, a poll from the Center for Security Policy released data showing "25% of those polled agreed that violence against Americans here in the United States is justified as a part of the global jihad" and 51% of those polled, "agreed that Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to Shariah." Shariah authorizes such atrocities as murder against non-believers who won't convert, beheadings and more unthinkable acts that pose great harm to Americans, especially women.

Mr. Trump stated, "Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again." - Donald J. Trump

MikeB4: Has he actually said he is banning Muslim people?

Yep.

Slate: Advisor Giuliani: OK. I’ll tell you the whole history of it. So when he first announced it he said, “Muslim ban.” He called me up and said, “Put a commission together, show me the right way to do it legally.” I put a commission together with Judge Mukasey, with Congressman McCaul, Pete King, a whole group of other very expert lawyers on this.

That's how they drafted the order. Clearly the result is a compromise to achieve some claim to legality. There is no doubting the motivation.
