I find all this profoundly depressing. I think at some point Trump's mental competence will have to be seriously questioned, not just by his political opponents. I don't see how he can carry on like this for four years. Something is going to break.

Apparently Trump is basing this on an article from Breitbar, the conspiracy loaded right wing publication that was previously under Bannon.

Either way, he is out of his depth on this. A FISA warrant is issued by a judge only if there's probable cause. FISA judges are independent and wouldn't allow a wide net warrant in case of innocent citizens being caught. This means if a wiretap was ever allowed there would be a very specific case presented - in which case Trump should be worried not about the tap itself but of having been in a situation where a judge thought that it was legal to actually tap him.

And Obama couldn't do it. Not even Trump can do it. FISA is Judiciary, not Executive.

Trump is an idiot.

All of which means Trump damned himself either way. If his tweets are true, and if they aren't! He can't be too bright. I told my hubby you could almost feel sorry for the guy, then regretted it when Hubby repeatedly told me Trump is totally undeserving of any sympathy and of course he's right.

Oh wow, check out this from Brietbart, especially the last sentence!

The outrage from the media and the Democrats appears to be standard hatred of Trump. The president forced a set of facts into the news cycle that was already previously public but framed in a way that puts his political opponents and the establishment media on the defensive. This appears to be the calculus: either the wiretaps exist, as Trump suggests, and the president will use them to bludgeon the Obama administration and the media for impropriety and overreach; or, there were no wiretaps, which suggests the previous administration had no reason to suspect Trump colluded with a foreign government.

HAHAHA! So brietbarf have no idea how FISA works either...

Soooo many morons.

The Obama Administration is gone. Trump's trying to flog a dead horse, without knowing how the whip works.

It is said that Trump has delegated the sign off to perform military strikes and operations.

Avoidance of responsibility, whatever.

Either way this makes General Mattis into a very powerful man. The personal opinions and history of Mattis suddenly become relevant.

I was just reading up on Trump’s latest claims about being spied on by Obama. Since Trump took office there has been a continuing stream of similar accusations, against Obama, against Hillary, against congressional democrats, against critical republicans, against the press, etcetera on and on.

Is Trump actually doing any governing? When does he find time for it? All of his officials seem enmeshed in one kind of investigation or another. Everything in the news seems to be about him and his latest obsessions, rather than what is going on in the world. Every day there is something else. Has the world been put on hold? I get a sense of America continuously chasing its own tail. Whether Trump is a great president or the worst one ever, is his administration actually doing anything?

Even author Stephen King is getting in on trolling Trump on Twitter.

I could not agree more. Treading water, yet time goes by. His first day in office being the President might be later in the year

I read recently that there are no US representatives at the UN in Geneva as the Obama's men have been removed and no new appointments made. The Geneva office is second in line after New York.

I assume we have no American ambassador here yet. Or for the foreseeable future.

I think that you're assuming that he ever will or is even capable of governing. There's a possibility that he simply can't and is just a loud mouth piece.
