Stupid and uneducated people voting for Trump to get their comeuppance

So the county with the lowest life expectancy in the US decided to vote overwhelmingly for Dumpf. Most of these people have massively benefitted from Obamacare, which they somehow despise if their choice to vote for someone who told them again and again that he would repeal it is any indication. They are about to be royally screwed. It truly couldn't happen to nicer people.

"It's okay bro, I got to hate on some immigrants who stole my job"!*

* For those with no sense of humour: not an actual quote.

Obviously!

Because if it was a real quote, they wouldn't use bro, they'd "gots to hates, coz now my John Deere don't no longer work coz immigrunts did done do sumfin to mah truck".*

*For those with no sense of humour, that was a stereotype.

In real, un-funny stuff, it's pretty sad that these people got so tied up in what BS the Ginger Tossa told them during his campaign, that they actually believed their life would be better.

It's even sadder that this sh*t exists in a "first world country".

Trump is a con man of the same type as the "Bishop" Tamaki's of the world, those selling "cheap" stuff out of the back of trucks, fake cures for cancer etc.  They know the demographic to target.

OTOH the GOP (and conservative parties globally) have for the past few decades been able to use the media to promote fear to get that same demographic to vote directly against their own interests.

I think you'll find that most of those people voted for trump because he said he would get jobs back to America.

I have some empathy for many them: You're poorly educated, lost your job, lost your house, and your small town is probably suffering a heroin epidemic off the back of the legal opiate industry. Your choice: vote for a politician representing a continuation of the policies of the last 20 years that ended you in this mess, or for someone, not a politician, promising you the world. You've got nothing to lose, who are you going to vote for?

As turns out, you probably did have something to lose. Medicaid.

Trump is likely to blame someone else for that. To him, it doesn't matter who.

Quite a good read, re TrumpCare.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/90483855/opinion-republican-voters-the-biggest-losers-under-trumpcare-health-bill

Yes - but that story misses the elephant in the room, that the cost of overall healthcare is inflated by high costs and over-servicing - someone has to pay, and most people want that someone to be someone else.

"Experts" however aren't going to tell you that they're being overpaid by world standards, nor that it's pointless being tested for full bloods when you've got a cold, an MRI when you've hurt your shoulder, or that having a private room with gold-plated tapware in the ensuite will make no difference whatsoever to your post-surgery recovery.  If your insurance covers it of course. And if it doesn't, then...

For lols:

Looking at 25 counties in which Trump won the largest share of votes, the Post finds that, in all but one, people would pay more for health insurance and lose most in tax credits.

Perversely, in a political context, many in liberal areas that voted more than 80 per cent for Hillary Clinton, would benefit under Trumpcare because health costs are lower in urban areas and their Trumpcare tax credits would amount to more money in their pockets.

Couldn't happen to nicer people. I for one hope Trump gets his way on these people.

Trump will tell them it was Obama's fault, and they'll believe it.

Yes, exactly. Like every other thing he has done, there seems to be very very little real planning and advice.

I'm sure there's plenty of planning and advice - problem is that it's diverse as there are different end-games.  Trump wants to be loved by Americans - and make a little money on the side for his kids, Bannon mainly wants a crusade to kill muslims, probably blacks, jews later - and to make everybody read the bible,  Ryan hands out copies of "Atlas Shrugged" to his staff as compulsory reading.  The only thing uniting their philosophies is a hatred of "liberals".

Another judge has now banned Trump's ban. You almost have to feel sorry for the man. His health bill isn't doing too well, either. Not mention the Obama spying and Russia connections. What are the odds of him lasting out the year?

Maybe.  But don't forget that  Reichsmarschall Bannon is pulling his strings and is waiting in the wings..

I feel about as sorry for him as I do for Hitler just before he topped himself.
