Having ruined things there, do they now want to do the same here?

Wouldn't these be people who disagree with Trump fleeing?

I'd just say they're more intelligent than their brethren.

As my American father used to say "America: love it or leave it." So I left it. :)

I'm sure there's plenty of planning and advice - problem is that it's diverse as there are different end-games.  Trump wants to be loved by Americans - and make a little money on the side for his kids, Bannon mainly wants a crusade to kill muslims, probably blacks, jews later - and to make everybody read the bible,  Ryan hands out copies of "Atlas Shrugged" to his staff as compulsory reading.  The only thing uniting their philosophies is a hatred of "liberals".

I should have clarified. By real people with real skills, with a real intention for the greater good. Which if you gather that as a superset, you will then have another superset, which is the T man and his cronies. As I see it there is no overlap. It is really really bizarre but its also decided by a democratic vote, so it is what it is, for better or worse. But the end game is 2020 max.

Between now and then, we have tweets, and various issues. What we don't have is action, which I am more than happy with. Its a hole digging itself. Whether it be 2020 or before, it will be short and sweet, and a perfect platform for someone else to launch from. That someone else has already had the battle 66% won

Quite a good read, re TrumpCare.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/americas/90483855/opinion-republican-voters-the-biggest-losers-under-trumpcare-health-bill

Yes - but that story misses the elephant in the room, that the cost of overall healthcare is inflated by high costs and over-servicing - someone has to pay, and most people want that someone to be someone else.

"Experts" however aren't going to tell you that they're being overpaid by world standards, nor that it's pointless being tested for full bloods when you've got a cold, an MRI when you've hurt your shoulder, or that having a private room with gold-plated tapware in the ensuite will make no difference whatsoever to your post-surgery recovery.  If your insurance covers it of course. And if it doesn't, then...

Part of the issue is liability, if they DON"T do the tests and miss something they can be sued for millions, the other cost is their liability insurances.

There is also the greater expectation in the US that they are entitled to these tests, hell just look at the drugs celebrities get dosed up with.

Horrific failure of US democracy and the US media's failure to hold Trump accountable, that he (and other GOP candidates) campaigned so hard against "Obamacare" but had no plans for a replacement, the closer they get to consensus within the GOP about how it should be - the closer it is to the original "Obamacare".

Yet Trump's now being all precious about people calling it "Trumpcare".

If Ryan / Trump get their way, it's "wealthcare" not "healthcare".

$US 54 billion PA added to the "defense" budget. 5% of the world population - 40% of the world expenditure on weaponry.

That $54 billion funded mainly from cuts to science, those cuts mainly to earth science / environmental protection - from the country with only 5% of the world population, but contributing to 25% of global emissions.

There's a lot I love about the USA - but not that.  F#%#@ Trump, Bannon.  Curse their filthy evil souls.

About the only good thing IMO, that I've heard Trumpy planning is to reactivate the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository. This seems to me to be better than doing nothing with all that nuclear crap they have scattered around.

But they campaigned on it before the vote, and got voted in. The fact that voters voted for him and not a documented alternative is not a fault of democracy, its a win for the marketing that he provided. Its now a warning for voters in following elections. Caveat Emptor

Some commentator on Aljazeera said these important policies of the USA are decided in this way...

1.   Foreign policy by the military industrial complex.

2.   Domestic policy by Wall Street and the Banks.

3.   Energy and Environment policy by the oil companies.

To this you could add in the amazing influence the Israelis have & you have a hot mess to put it politely.

Oh - absolute BS they campaigned on "it".  They never had a viable alternative plan - just hot air, hatred of a black president, a female candidate, and the ACA, an appeal to racist filth and a "hard done by" "white working class" - who're being royally shafted by the man they love.

The "documented alternative" was the ACA - not perfect, but it was already there.

QFT. I will repeat here: Trump's campaign was of hate and lies. He never had a plan to finish ISIS, never had a plan for an alternative healthcare. What he did was to appeal to racist, misogynist, bigotted, stupid people who hated the black President and hated the idea of a woman in power.

He lied to them and when in power he did not "drain the swamp". He's placing his friends - bankers, industry barons - in power.

Bunch of wankers.
