Well that went downhill fast. I expected a technical analysis of tanning lotion. Maybe the new digs have sunbeds instead.

Dratsab:

DarthKermit: Heard on the news that Trump's donating a million bucks towards the Texas disaster relief. At least that's something.

Not quite. A spokesperson said he will. He's made promises to donate to various causes in the past, a lot of them never actually eventuate though he still claims he made them. He's even tried taking credit for other peoples donations in the past.

The Washington Post, 29 Oct 2016 - Trump boasts about his philanthropy. But his giving falls short of his words.

Trump promised to give away the proceeds of Trump University. He promised to donate the salary he earned from “The Apprentice.” He promised to give personal donations to the charities chosen by contestants on “Celebrity Apprentice.” He promised to donate $250,000 to a charity helping Israeli soldiers and veterans.

Together, those pledges would have increased Trump’s lifetime giving by millions of dollars. But The Post has been unable to verify that he followed through on any of them.

Instead, The Post found that his personal giving has almost disappeared entirely in recent years. After calling 420-plus charities with some connection to Trump, The Post found only one personal gift from Trump between 2008 and the spring of this year. That was a gift to the Police Athletic League of New York City, in 2009. It was worth less than $10,000.

The charity that Trump has given the most money to over his lifetime appears to be his own: the Donald J. Trump Foundation.

One of the foundation’s most consistent causes was Trump himself.

New findings, for instance, show that the Trump Foundation’s largest-ever gift - $264,631 - was used to renovate a fountain outside the windows of Trump’s Plaza Hotel.

Every time I read about Trump's charity "giving", what he said versus what he did, I feel unclean.

His parents really did a number on him.

"Donald Trump's father was arrested at Ku Klux Klan riot in New York in 1927, records reveal"

And considering he and his father married immigrants, you'd think he'd have some sympathy

Perhaps this might be "interesting" karma for the Trump regime, Pruitt, and other assorted denialists:

Projected position of hurricane Irma later this week - heading on a path toward Florida, with a second tropical depression following.

Of course this is "weather", not proof of climate change, and in any case that computer modelling could be wrong...

But drill baby, drill.

I expect that he'll blame Hillary for it or at least rename it in her honour.

Trump administration prepares to lift limits on providing surplus military equipment to local police. Where they already seem to be at war against minorities and have no problems shooting first, asking questions later.

USNews.com - Watch Trump's Real Damage

Sept. 5, 2017

Stop getting distracted by the president's circus act.

When it comes to President Donald Trump, many of us seem to fixate on the latest shiny objects: His absurd tweets, his nasty personal attacks, his golf photos, his internal White House drama, even the high heels his wife wore on the way to Texas during Hurricane Harvey.

These all make for great copy and allow for many Democrats and Trump-deniers to put a smile or smirk on their faces. But, really folks, this is a perfect example of taking our eye off the ball. ...

Maybe it is just easier to get upset by the latest outrage coming out of his mouth or the unhinged nature of his presidency. Maybe that is what gets many Americans' blood boiling. That's understandable. But the real damage is being done within the cabinet departments, agencies and White House. The Steve Bannons of the world are laughing at most of us because we get caught up in debates about monuments, apart from civil rights, or hiring and firing dramas while they are systematically tearing apart and disrupting "the administrative state." ...

The rest of this article is well worth reading.

Apparently it's way larger than last week's one in Texas.

If God's angry at Americans maybe because they elected Trump, seeing it's only going for Republican states?

Lock him up!
