House Republicans prepare contempt action against FBI & DOJ.

Analysts are seeing this as the first moves by the Trump administration and Republicans to oust Mueller and shut down the Russian probe. The first step is to build up groundswell of support for the view that the FBI/DOJ are working under political motives. With Trump, as usual, using his Twitter account as a mouthpiece for this.

If this happens, it will be very interesting to see how America as a whole responds. We're in for a very interesting few weeks.

Not so sure about the dumb bit. A wealthy but isolated arrogant aloofness I believe, better describes him. ...

If he has achieved anything in his life, it is to alert future generations to the dangers of allowing uneducated, unwashed, unemployed and undiscriminating voters to get the upper hand in a farcical electoral process that doesn't reflect the will of the voters.

Hmmmm ........ reminds me of a recent political event closer to home hahaha.

Hardly a fair comparison.

The USA has an unstable, bigoted, senile, ultra-right-wing, moronic egomaniac with his finger on the nuclear button.
New Zealand has a young, intelligent mid-left Prime Minister with no military power and a much higher popularity rating than Trump.

The two countries have different electoral systems, for which I am truly grateful.  wink

Bloviator

Used by Billy Bush in a piece published in the NYT, where he reflects on the Access Hollywood tape.

He said it. “Grab ’em by the pussy.”

Of course he said it. And we laughed along, without a single doubt that this was hypothetical hot air from America’s highest-rated bloviator. Along with Donald Trump and me, there were seven other guys present on the bus at the time, and every single one of us assumed we were listening to a crass standup act. He was performing. Surely, we thought, none of this was real.

We now know better.

Karma is a b*tch

Sarah's tweet was November last year, presumably a jab at then-candidate Hillary Clinton amid the FBI making announcements regarding new findings in the investigation into her private email server.

Mr Trump says that ain't him on that video saying "grab 'em by the pussy". I totally believe him and promise to be less vigilant and more trusting from now on.

I know you're joking... Here's another poor sap whose life was ruined by Trump.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/dec/04/of-course-he-said-it-billy-bush-counters-trumps-pussy-tape-claims

"'Of course he said it': Billy Bush counters Trump's pussy tape claims"

"Billy Bush has pushed back against reports that Donald Trump believes the Access Hollywood tape was a hoax. Writing in the New York Times on Sunday, the television host says: 'Of course he said it.'

Bush, who was recorded listening to Trump making lewd comments about grabbing women 'by the pussy', said that recent reports that the US president was denying the remarks 'hit a raw nerve in me'.

He also said that he believed at the time that Trump’s remarks were 'a crass standup act ... Surely, we thought, none of this was real'. Bush added that after reading the accounts of many of the nearly 20 women who accused Trump of sexual misconduct, he now believes 'the ‘grab ’em by the pussy’ routine [was] real.'"

ABC News, today: Donald Trump's tweet could prove to be a turning point for his administration

Team Trump’s first attempt to explain away the errant tweet was a claim that Trump himself didn’t even write it.

Instead, officials leaked to the Washington Post that the tweet was drafted by John Dowd - the lawyer representing Trump personally (rather than the White House) in the Russia investigation.

Trump has tweeted 36,500 times to date. This tweet is the first time ever that someone else has claimed to write a tweet for him. Remarkable!  wink
