Trump visited the hospital where victims of the latest school shooting are being treated. He spent si minutes there including time talking to press.

I suspect Trump was instructed by his handlers to put on a show of sympathy, since he has previously been criticised for lack of. This is just his feeble attempt to pretend to care.

Previously Trump has said on many occasions "if more people were armed the shooter would be dead before he killed anyone". He probably is thinking he should arm students.

I would hate to see that put to the test but I can easily imagine dozens of panicky kids banging away at each other and at the echos in the hall. The shooter wouldn't even have to do anything. Just start the chain reaction and then walk away while the victims do each other in. Great idea, Trump.

With the Congress members overly influenced by the NRA, & with 300 million guns in circulation, I predict that Trump and Congress will spend mega dollars on fortifying schools.    This would mean that once through the front door the kids would feel relatively safe.

I predict that they'll (republicans) offer thoughts and prayers, and silently allow Fox News, Russian troll farms, and the NRA to argue that these tragedies are caused by "liberals".

IOW - business as usual.

By that thinking, the US should be the safest country on the planet...

I predict they'll "wait for all information to become available".

When all information becomes available, nothing will happen.

The Latest on the deadly Florida high school shooting

A gun show went on as scheduled this weekend, a short drive from the school where a teenager used his own legally purchased AR-15 assault weapon to kill 17 people and wound more than a dozen others.
Many assault weapons were on display as customers, some bringing their children, checked out the killing firepower.

Jorge Fernandez spoke for Florida Gun Shows in sharing what he called their "deepest condolences to the persons who have been involved in this terrible tragedy."
But he told The Associated Press that his company's shows are scheduled years in advance, and "it would just be cost prohibitive to cancel."

I guess cost wins out over life in America.

White House 'Thoughts and Prayers' explained:

'Our thoughts are that you send prayers that the next shooting happens to someone else'.

Hillary Clinton coming to NZ for speaking event starting at $195.00 where she will explain what happened in the 2016 campaign.    Maybe the book did not sell very well!    She's probably putting the funds towards a campaign fund for Chelsea Clinton who is just about the same age as our PM.    And then a few weeks later look forward to Obama travelling on a new Air NZ route.    Perhaps he is doing this to take a break from the speaking circuit...    Wonder how much he is getting paid to do this.
