So Trump calls on NK to do the right thing and rejoin the family of nations with de-nuclearization. I wonder when the US will do the same.
The US and USSR denuclearised in the early 1970's. NK would be up for that type of arrangement

What was it the witch said to Daenerys about bringing Khal Drogo back? Something something yeah right as if that will ever happen. But hey, if anyone is going to hang onto their arsenal, it should at least be the one country that's never actually bombed anyone with - oh. Bugger.

Not really they just got rid of old stock. The US has an estimated 6,400 and Russia similar. NK has probably less than 10.
denuclearised......yeah right

Ah, I took that deal which was labelled denuclearised as setting of a maximum level of weapons. When I read this a few weeks ago, in fact the US could have increased one type to reach the limit. My take was this is open knowledge, the US was involved, so NK has said it will denuclearise, using that arrangement as their definition. So,if they only have 10, the UN may accept 10 is their limit?
My thoughts on this which is probably wrong are that the last thing Trump and the US military want is for the two Koreas to come to a full peace accord as they will lose the excuse they have for a military presence in that area. The US will continue to play lip service to the peace overtures and when appropriate give it a left hook to set the negotiations back. I believe they are using the same tactic in the Middle East. The US cannot go with out tensions in some part of the globe that give the impression of a serious threat, or wars they can fight by proxy. If uncontrolled peace were to break out they feel threatened as their power base and influence becomes weakened and it is harder to justify to their people the Billions spent on defence are needed.

Well put. Imagine Asia is at peace, and the US was just one country among many. As Trump would put it, he wants a level playing field, but not really
This is crazy
Washington (CNN)After President Donald Trump canceled a historic US-North Korea summit set for June 12, the administration said it would resume its maximum pressure campaign, signaled new sanctions are likely and expressed hope another meeting can be scheduled.
So, get tougher, and hope for another meeting? They seem to think their pressure was the reason for the meeting. The reason is NK their nukes, and they can talk to SK to make progress now that the nukes are sorted. It would be prudent for the US to remain in limbo for now, calm everything down, keep it all quiet. Revisit this later in the year. But no, the daggers are out again. As suggested, they dont want peace, so China, NK, and SK will work it out and then ask the UN to ratify whatever.
Trump quote
Trump, speaking on Friday to graduates at the US Naval Academy, did not mention North Korea directly, but he stressed the United States' military might.
He said, "The best way to prevent war is to be fully prepared for war.''
So, meet with NK, let them practice what you preach, and accept they are a nuclear nation. Everyone on the planet knows NK wont attack as that means the end of NK, and US wont attack as thats a US vs Russia and China

ROFL. Trump can't even be original and quote something right.
Si vis pacem, para bellum is latin for "If you want peace, prepare for war."
Also the ammunition known as "parabellum" got its name from this quote.
Trump quoting this to armed forces is deeply ironic, coming from a guy who skirted the service.

Who is the Lindsey Graham guy??? Diplomacy and no nukes, or war as we are the protector of the world

And China is undercutting the US, so its clear this is only a US issue and only the US can resolve it, and a war in China's backyard is their problem.
Sydney Morning Herald - What really led to Trump's North Korea faceplant
One has to marvel at just how spectacularly Trump and the other key members of his administration have screwed up this opportunity.
And it all stemmed from a basic problem: the man who thinks he's the greatest negotiator in the world has absolutely no idea how to negotiate.
With apologies to Charlie Brown, Lucy and the football
Sideface
A few from Trump's daily tweetstorm:
That speech from the heel spur hero seems to be rather more bellicose than necessary to motivate a "defense" force during peacetime.
Flippity floppity.
Some protests are okay by Trump - apparently.
Trump's usual fixation with Chicago. In 24 cities in the US you're more likely to be murdered than you are in Chicago, but most of those are Republican strongholds - so he can't blame Obama.
