The Guardian - Putin will run rings round Trump in Helsinki

Trump’s ‘America first’ rhetoric is a gift to the Russian president, who wants to use it to break up the existing European order.

When Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin meet in Helsinki on 16 July, there will only be one winner: it will be the guy who likes to be pictured shirtless riding horses in Siberia, not the one who trundles around a golf course in a cart.
The biggest losers, of course, will be the rest of us, as the future prospects for international peace and prosperity take another nosedive. ...

The US’s withdrawal from Europe was a long-held Soviet goal that Putin now believes may be in reach. ...

In Helsinki, Putin will deploy the KGB toolkit he so readily absorbed back in his youthful years to run rings around Trump.
Putin will have an easy time capitalising on Trump’s ignorance, vanity and complacency.
And he will relish the fact that Trump in Helsinki will be as unpredictable to his own advisers as he generally is to US allies. ...

Avenatti is hinting that he'll put his name in the hat for 2020.

Of course he's getting kickback from "establishment" Democrats - and I agree with his response:

Perhaps he's just trolling Trump - perhaps not.

This raise the important question - When will the Democrats start fighting back?

GEOTUS and his henchmen get 90%+ of the publicity - at least outside the USA.

The Democrats may again lose by default, as they did in 2016.

Exactly. Its not enough to find someone pretty good, they may need to move away from establishment types, and look for a 40 to 50yo who has been in the party for a long while and worked hard.  No politician can run a country, they need help and knowledge and advice from many areas. Trump has been running it single handed. Needs to go back to the collective knowledge. Sell that, sell a new name, and sell the toilet roll length list of Trumps failings. And hope that sanity prevails, as well as voter turnout

An article in Rolling Stone about comparisons being made between Obrador and Trump:

On the campaign trail, López Obrador promised to turn Mexico’s presidential palace into a public park, sell off the government’s fleet of presidential aircraft and cut the president’s salary in half. “We are going to get rid of the luxuries of government,” he said. The same day that Trump was inaugurated, he hung gold drapes in the Oval Office, and the faux opulence of his lifestyle can only be compared to some Jersey Shore version of Saddam Hussein, what with the golden toilets and porn stars and lascivious comments about his own daughter. But we’re told that both these men are self-aggrandizing egomaniacs. It makes no sense.

Michael Cohen's has several problems (duh). The fact that his Ukrainian wife was active in the New York tax business should make Trump worried.

There's a rarely know but popular technique used by the US prosecutors on all levels, for getting uncooperative potential witnesses to testify.

Note you cannot be compelled to testify against your marriage partner. So the first step to bypass the previous restriction is charging each husband and wife with separate serious crimes. The crimes are unlikely to actually get a conviction, but that's not actually the point.

The point is to increase the family's legal bill and bail to a point where it financially crushing.

Once the uncooperative witness (Michael) realizes he'll be bankrupted by legal bills and usually divorce, the prosecutor has won, even without any trials.

Rolling Stone published an article a few months ago:

A Brief History of Michael Cohen’s Criminal Ties

If he's a crooked as portrayed...

No wait - if he's only a quarter as crooked as portrayed - then there is zero chance he'll turn "stool pigeon" on the chief of the crime syndicate he joined.  It's a ploy - these guys are practised, successful NY crooks and wise guys.  Cohen might only turn and make a deal if he was to be charged with a capital offense - treason.  We're not there yet.

The tiresome and moronic Trump supporter's response "But Her Emails" is morphing:
