He is a liar and people who voted for him are either stupidly naive or simply don't care to be outed as racists and bigots. More likely the second.

My guess, for what it's worth (not much), is that Trump will eventually resign, though that may take awhile yet. He will not go quietly or easily, but his ego will not let him be pushed. When he runs out of options, he can always just walk away screaming that he was doing such a great job but the deep state witch hunt wouldn't let him complete his mission and it's all someone else's fault. The country doesn't deserve such a wonderful president so stuff them!

The question on everyone's lips is whether Mike Pence will be better or worse president than Trump.

If Trump resigns and Pence comes in: IIRC he gets the remainder of Trump's term plus the opportunity to win two full terms of his own.

That could be about 10 years of Pence as POTUS.  10 years of a red white house.  No doubt many people are pensive about the prospect of that happening.

Agree. The US lacks a real leader, and its support teams, well check the courts to read about them. The days of a good person doing right by their country seem a distant memory

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." - JFK

I read somewhere that every single member of Congress is at least a millionaire. Don't know if that is true but from the scandals that have come out and the many actions that are transparently self-serving, if not actually illegal, there certainly do not seem to be many representatives left who care about anything other than their own selfish interests.

Rikkitic: "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." - JFK

It was a different time.

JFK

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

Trump

“[Chinese Communist Party’s President Xi Jinping is] now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,”

"If [Russian President Vladimir Putin] says great things about me, I’m going to say great things about him. I’ve already said, he is really very much of a leader. I mean, you can say, 'Oh, isn’t that a terrible thing'—the man has very strong control over a country. Now, it’s a very different system, and I don’t happen to like the system. But certainly, in that system, he’s been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader."

"I just wanted to congratulate you [, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte,] because I am hearing of the unbelievable job on the drug problem."

"Libya would be better off if [Moammar] Gaddafi were in charge right now."

"China’s crackdown Tiananmen Square riot's shows you the power of strength, versus the US is right now perceived as weak."

I cannot see it. Some of his voters won't vote for him. Many DEMs will vote that didn't last time. I think the three rust belts states there was only 80,000 votes in it, otherwise he would have lost all of them. Narrowest of margins. Campaign trail, well, I'm sure the last 18 months will have the DEM's with plenty to work with

SPRINTING REPORTER VIDEO

The frantic 60-minute period when the two major legal decisions were revealed yesterday have been captured in a stunning video which shows a female reporter in a blue dress sprinting out of a Virginia courthouse to tell the world the news.

Her Usain Bolt-like dash from the Manafort trial have brought her worldwide fame after the clip went viral on social media.

The young journalist was forced to make the frantic sprint because phones were not permitted in the courtroom, which meant that reporters had to rely on quick feet to break the news.

She was bombarded with complements for her dedication to the job and athleticism by thousands on social media.

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/thanks-mr-trump-state-media-063417383.html

China’s biggest state broadcaster has produced a short, satirical video mocking the US president that opens with the line: "Thanks Trump, you are GREAT!"

The English-language footage, uploaded on YouTube on Monday night, takes the form of a letter to Donald Trump that thanks him for all the things he has done for China, and highlights many of the country’s concerns in the ongoing trade dispute.

The film by China Global Television Network (CGTN) sarcastically thanks Trump for helping the rest of the world to "bond" and galvanising China into making economic reforms that helped it lure major foreign investors such as Tesla.

It is one of the few occasions that state media has personally targeted the US president since the start of the trade war, with most reports taking a less confrontational tone.
...
"Dear Trump, Thank you for the shock therapy about how far apart China and the US are and why it’s imperative they get on the same page
...
Thank you for re-instilling in the Chinese a sense of HUMILITY. How can there be enough gratitude for highlighting the foibles of overconfidence and self-congratulation, never a virtue except in your case," Cheng, a former reporter for the US CNBC network, continues.

The letter covers a number of issues the trade war has brought into focus and explains how China has benefited from the situation.

At one point it even argues that China’s retaliatory tariffs on US food and drink imports will help improve the nation’s health, saying: "On behalf of doctors, thank you for pointing out the need to wean off American goods like bourbon and bacon."

Cheng expressed "agreement" with Trump’s stance that the "WTO needs reform", and went on to thank the US government for reports that spelt out "China’s shortcomings" that had helped it to make "tough reforms" that helped bring in new investors, adding: "Hello, Tesla".

Last month the US electric car maker announced plans to build a new plant in Shanghai, the first in China that will be wholly owned by a foreign company.
