He has all those factors but he has turned out to not be dangerous, he has turned out to be ineffective in running a country, not even close. An ineffective person that is an idiot, affecting his people and his allies and partners. But I dont consider him dangerous, in the context of WW3 etc.

He is just ruining a lot of things for his people, and externally.

Oh dear. Most people are not economists - they see the US economy as doing very well indeed, don't understand the context of how that's an extension of the stimulus policies since 2008 which should have been reigned in, don't care about the deficit because the scoundrels who bleated about the deficit during Obama's terms "don't care anymore" now that Trump is worse.

As far as "WW3" goes, the doomsday clock is as close as it's ever been to midnight - 2 minutes. It's back to the same setting as 1953, when the US first detonated a hydrogen bomb.

Millions of Americans learnt that nearly half of America really does support Trump. The Blue Wave wasn't important because it would have given America an early way out of the Trump nightmare, it was important to show the rest of the world that Trump was an aberration. Instead it reinforced it: you can say the fact that the Democrats lost seats in the Senate is because those seats were vulnerable. Well, they were vulnerable, but they were held by a Democrat already. And despite everything, more Trump supporters turned up and voted them out on the day.

I don't think these results in any way show that America is waking up. They just show mid-term results going somewhat against the incumbent, which is quite common.

The video posted here has been "doctored" to speed it up - to make it appear as if Acosta "assaulted" the intern.
There is plenty of untampered video which proves it's fake.

Millions will have seen it, 78,000 people have "liked" it, 26,000 people have retweeted it.

Too many Americans accept blatant lies at face value. It's truly Orwellian.

The "story" was about Trump hating criticism from the media, and suppressing criticism by banning a journalist he hates.

Not now - the story is about how an evil journalist "assaulted" a young woman.

A new opinion piece co-authored by George T. Conway III - husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway - argues that President Trump’s installation of Matthew G. Whitaker as acting attorney general Wednesday was unconstitutional.

“It’s illegal. And it means that anything Mr. Whitaker does, or tries to do, in that position is invalid,” George Conway wrote with his co-author in a piece published by the New York Times on Thursday, less than 24 hours after Trump ousted Jeff Sessions from the post.

George Conway’s piece was his latest in a series of public shots at the policies of his wife’s boss. Just last week, Conway, a lawyer, took aim at Trump’s pledge to end birthright citizenship in another op-ed, calling that plan unconstitutional, as well.

Once again, the Conways were on opposite sides of a policy fight Thursday. Earlier in the day, Kellyanne Conway defended Trump’s actions to reporters outside the White House.

The president is evading the requirement to seek the Senate’s advice and consent for the nation’s chief law enforcement officer and the person who will oversee the Mueller investigation.

But most importantly, nothing is going to happen about it. The Republicans control the Senate (which ordinarily would confirm the choice) and now the Supreme Court (if you could even get the case before them fast enough to prevent Whitaker from shutting down the investigation).

In other words - too late.

I guess my most pessimistic view on this is based on an expectation that this was long planned - not a (dumb) knee-jerk reaction to losing the House to the Democrats. All polling has long suggested that was going to happen, Trump & Co will have been planning what they needed to do, and this (firing Sessions / appointing a shill) was part of it. So what next? They have two months to shut down Mueller, shred as much as possible, and work hard to sabotage the reputation of all and everybody involved in the investigation. Then if the Dems try to resurrect the inquiry in some form, Trump.will.retaliate.hard.

He's going to get away with this. I can feel it.

Yet, speaking with a colleague this morning about the issue, they stated that Trump was right to appoint a loyalist, after all the media and his enemies are the ones behind these fake charges, therefore the playing field needs to be evened out.

I can certainly see how Trump has divided friends and families. Two people on the same political side of the spectrum as I, now question my motives for criticising Trump. It really is a case of "you're either with us or against us".

He clearly will win a 4 year extension unless something drastic happens. IMO he will also win the trade war with China (possible new trade agreement already announced) and he will force Iran back to the table. On top of that people generally don't want refugees flooding their homeland although most wont publicly admit to it.

His tactics, lies and deceits are disgusting to most of us but he is cleanly appealing to a lot of Americans.
