Rikkitic:

Trump's days are numbered. Immediately after Cohen was sentenced, the New York prosecutors issued a press release indicating that they have had a cooperation agreement since September with the company that owns the National Enquirer, which is the tabloid rag that was used to funnel payments to silence Trump's sex partners. Attorneys everywhere, with the possible exception of Giuliani, loudly agree that the payments constitute an attempt (successful, as it happens) to undermine the election process. This is a very serious felony and the Enquirer ties it directly to Trump. There are also hints of proof of substantial other misdeeds that have not yet been made public. At the same time, the incoming Democratic New York Attorney General is promising to thoroughly investigate every aspect of Trump's business in New York, including his family members, who are all responsible officers of his corporation. That Time cover may actually come true. Also, a dozen or so Republican senators broke ranks to vote for a bill to end American support for the war in Yemen. There is also talk about clarifying the convention that sitting presidents cannot be indicted, which is a tradition but is not actually enshrined in law. Numerous other rumblings have also been occurring today. I have been getting most of my information from watching CNN and MSNBC. Impeachment is becoming a real possibility, as well as prosecution for a number of crimes. It is now accepted that Trump actively broke several laws and may well be indicted even before his term of office ends. Things are moving fast. I think a lot may emerge in the coming week.

Merry Christmas!

Agree. His self inflicted past problems are closing in exponentially. The straw that will break his back is that many GOP oppose him, either personally or because of what he is doing to their party. Its been like that since very early on. You can imagine that if there was a vote of no confidence, with the proviso that you won't be affected, there would be a revolt. In the meantime, those who want to revolt are held back. Why lose my career for making a stand? What the GOP want, is a situation to develop where he is implicated, and they can act. Rather than a coup. He broke this, the Constitution says that, we have a loophole, nab him

People said he'll never be GOP nominee. He became GOP nominee.

People say he'll never be President. He became President.

People say he'll be impeached. People say he won't get a second term. Well, you know, people have said other things.

The New York Times - Trump Says Cohen Failed Him as His Lawyer and Blames Him for Campaign Finance Violations

For months, the president has demeaned Mr. Cohen, calling him weak and praising other former aides who have refused to cooperate with authorities.

Trump's days are numbered...

I've heard this too many times over the past two years to actually believe it.

The GOP will never move against Trump, their voters would crucify them.

And doesn't impeachment require a 2/3 majority? The Dems can't swing that by themselves.

Senate slaps Trump twice.

The Senate cast two historic votes Thursday to end U.S. participation in the Saudi-led war effort in Yemen and condemn the Saudi crown prince as responsible for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, delivering clear political rebukes of President Trump’s continued embrace of the kingdom.

The unanimous vote to hold Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman responsible for Khashoggi’s murder reflects the extent to which senators of both parties have grown tired of Trump’s continued defense of Mohammed’s denials. It also puts significant pressure on leaders in the House — where the president’s Saudi policy is a much more partisan issue — to allow members to cast a similar vote condemning the crown prince before the end of the year.

- Washington Post, my emphasis

Republicans are (mostly) loyal to money and power. I'm not saying that the Democrats are saints; they ain't.

As long as the economy was doing OK, and Trump was passing business friendly, anti-brown skin executive orders they would ignore his many slights.

The arrest of Meng Wanzhou, a well-connected executive at Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei, has destabilizes the market. It's pretty much assured the Chinese will retaliate via an expansion of Trump's trade war.

Also gas prices are rising, and the constant insults of well-connected conservatives I would expect Republicans will be secretly be happy with Mueller's upcoming report on Russian meddling..
