According to the Washington Post, doctored videos of Pelosi to make her appear drunk are popping up all over the Internet. I haven't seen one and I can't link to the clip so I don't know if this is character assassination or just schoolboy humour.

See my previous post. Not only popping up, but also retweeted by Trump.

Trump retweets a doctored video of Pelosi attempting to show her drunk, and allows AG Barr to declassify selected documents to assist in his narrative that there were illegal investigations into him leading up to the 2016 election. ...

The Washington Post - Faked Pelosi videos, slowed to make her appear drunk, spread across social media

I'm watching MSNBC right now and they just played a clip that can only be described as unbelievable. Trump lined up his whole cabinet and made them all individually recite what a great boss he is and what a wonderful privilege it is to work for him. Then they all had to attest to his 'calm' demeanour during the episode with Pelosi. It was an utterly humiliating, cringe-inducing performance. Even in the Trump era, I would not have believed it if I hadn't just seen it. It was just like North Koreans heaping praise on the Dear Leader so they could go home that evening without being shredded by an anti-aircraft weapon. It is exactly what you would expect from a tinpot tyrannical dictatorship. Shame on those craven cowards who feed this maniac's ego. Every single flunky who fails to stand up to this twittering lunatic belongs in stocks. The entire Republican party has sold its soul. May they all rot in hell!

The New York Times - Distorted Videos of Nancy Pelosi Spread on Facebook and Twitter, Helped by Trump

May 24, 2019

Manipulated videos of Speaker Nancy Pelosi that made it seem as if she were stumbling and slurring her words continued to spread across social media on Friday, fueled by President Trump’s feud with the Democratic leader.

One of the videos, which showed Ms. Pelosi speaking at a conference this week, appeared to be slowed down to make her speech sound continually garbled.

The video has been viewed millions of times on Facebook and was amplified by the president’s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, who shared the video Thursday night on Twitter.

“What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?” Mr. Giuliani said in a tweet that has since been deleted. “Her speech pattern is bizarre.”

Mr. Trump himself tweeted a separate video of Ms. Pelosi on Thursday night, an edited clip from Fox Business that spliced together moments from a 20-minute news conference and emphasized points where she had stumbled on her words.

“PELOSI STAMMERS THROUGH NEWS CONFERENCE,” the president tweeted. ...

EDIT:  The Washington Post - Why it’s so alarming that Trump shared an edited video of Pelosi

By Editorial Board

May 24 at 3:13 PM

... In the best of circumstances, the emergence of these tools for mass deception would be disturbing.

It becomes absolutely alarming at a time when America is led by somebody who is intent on deceiving.

The role of a responsible leader is to be a bulwark against an assault on truth, yet instead Mr. Trump is a battering ram.

That’s not a problem Twitter or any other platform can solve. ...

Trump is an out of control madman yet he is allowed to remain in charge. This twisted, neurotic, immoral, insecure despot who demands that his vassals swear fealty to him has sole authority over the world's largest nuclear arsenal. At this stage our best prospects may actually lie with the Chinese, or even Putin, and that is a sobering thought.

$7 billion dollars worth of US-made arms for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, congressional approval bypassed by using a loophole in their arms export controls.

The same loophole last used by Bush and Bush, just before Gulf War one and Gulf War two.

Can we not start a petition to have Twitter close Trump's account? Just to see how far it gets?

I think Twitter CEO won't do anything ever. It is in his interest and he seems to support it.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin has recently refused to hand over Trump's tax return, under subpoena.

Harriet Tubman is former female slave, American abolitionist and political activist.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/put-harriet-tubman-on-the-20-bill-now-to-wait-until-2028-is-insulting/2019/05/23/727a66fa-7d8a-11e9-8bb7-0fc796cf2ec0_story.html

Washington Post's editorial board

Mnuchin’s excuse for delaying the Harriet Tubman $20 bill is insulting

WHEN THEN-TREASURY Secretary Jack Lew decided in 2016 to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, he knew it would be up to the next administration to implement the change. But it seemed highly unlikely that anyone would upend a plan to honor this great American hero with a currency redesign that would also include depictions of historic events such as the suffragist march on Washington. “I don’t think somebody’s going to probably want to do that — to take the image of Harriet Tubman off of our money? To take the image of the suffragists off?” Mr. Lew said incredulously.

No one can blame him for a failure to imagine that any future administration would be so petty and narrow-minded as to go out of its way to thumb its nose at women, minorities and history. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin disclosed to Congress on Wednesday that redesign of the $20 bill to include an image of the former slave and leader of the Underground Railroad, slated for next year to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States, has been pushed back to 2028. Tubman was selected following a massive grass-roots campaign to include a woman on U.S. paper currency.

The explanation Mr. Mnuchin offered for the delay — the need for more time for “counterfeiting issues” — would be laughable if it were not so insulting. Are we really expected to believe that the administration, one that boasts about its can-do capabilities, needs eight more years to implement a new design? If indeed counterfeiting matters are the primary reason for currency design, shouldn’t you start with the $20 bill, since it is one of the most widely circulated?

It is more likely that Mr. Mnuchin, as the New York Times reported, feared President Trump would cause an uproar with an outright cancellation of a bill bearing Tubman’s image. As a candidate, Mr. Trump criticized the decision as “political correctness,” and he has made no secret of his admiration for President Andrew Jackson, whose image Tubman would have dislodged from the front of the $20 bill.

Some would argue there are bigger issues facing the country than who is on the $20 bill, and no doubt the administration is guilty of far more serious offenses. But symbols matter. Backpedaling on putting the first African American woman on paper money tells women and girls and people of color that they don’t — and never have — mattered. Mr. Trump has found yet another way to show that he does not really aspire to be president of all Americans.

So calm, so transparent ...

from The Washington Post, May 24

In our current age of foolishness, things are “incredible,” “thriving,” “booming,” “prospering,” “tremendous,” “beautiful,” “very much happy” - the “greatest,” “best” and “most.”

It is also a “disaster,” a “mess,” “disintegrating,” “really bad,” “even worse” than the “worst,” “ridiculous,” “nasty” and “fake” - with “abuses,” a “lot of problems” and in a “spiral down.”

All of the above thoughts were proclaimed by President Trump within the span of a few minutes this week.

So extreme is his rhetoric that even an attempt to portray himself as calm devolved into hysterical hyperbole.

“I was so calm,” he said. “I was extremely calm. ... Kellyanne, what was my temperament?”

“Very calm,” aide Kellyanne Conway replied.

“You were very calm,” aide Mercedes Schlapp assured him.

Aide Larry Kudlow concurred: “You were very calm.”

“So I was very calm,” said Trump.

“Very calm,” spokeswoman Sarah Sanders echoed.

“Couldn’t have been more calm,” Trump summarized.

“We had this instance at least once before where I was very, very calm. ... So I was extremely calm, very much like I am right now.”

Totally!!! He was so preternaturally pacific, so stupendously serene, so transcendentally tranquil that there has never, ever been a person, dead or alive, as utterly, astonishingly and overwhelmingly calm as Trump. ...

EDIT :  (Some of these aides were not even in the room at the time of Trump's White House tantrum)
