Thanks to this exclusive footage, we now know why Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire took the Trump-Ukraine whistleblower report to the White House instead of directly to Congress.

Fred99: The apostrophe catastrophe 2019.
If you think you've had a stroke when trying to read this tweet, relax - it's not you.

I think he has already had a stroke. Or maybe it is just the dementia eating his brain. Or maybe he just didn't pay attention in school.

Not offering any comment on the actual allegations but this article from the New York times commenting on the actual whistleblower report and how well it was written I did find very interesting.

The Washington Post - Trump told Russian officials in 2017 he wasn’t concerned about Moscow’s interference in U.S. election

September 27 at 8:26 PM

President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries, an assertion that prompted alarmed White House officials to limit access to the remarks to an unusually small number of people, according to three former officials with knowledge of the matter.

The comments, which have not been previously reported, were part of a now-infamous meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, in which Trump revealed highly classified information that exposed a source of intelligence on the Islamic State. ...

One former senior official said Trump regularly defended Russia’s actions, even in private, saying no country is pure.

“He was always defensive of Russia,” this person said, adding the president had never made such a specific remark about interference in their presence.

“He thought the whole interference thing was ridiculous. He never bought into it.”

The Washington Post - House subpoenas Pompeo and schedules depositions of five State Department officials

September 27 at 8:33 PM

The chairmen of three powerful House committees subpoenaed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for documents related to their investigation into President Trump’s controversial call with the leader of Ukraine.

The House panels have also scheduled five depositions beginning next week with State Department officials who would have knowledge of Trump’s engagements with Ukraine.

These are the first concrete steps taken as Democrats seek to build a case for impeachment.

Members of the House Intelligence Committee had said they planned to continue working next week through Congress’s scheduled recess, promising a very busy next few weeks.

Lawmakers shared their plans hours after Trump called for the committee’s chairman to resign and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) accused Attorney General William P. Barr of having “gone rogue.” ...

The New York Times - At Fox News, Trump Impeachment Inquiry Brings On-Air Sniping

Sept. 27, 2019

Fox News personalities are facing heckles, insults and criticism for their coverage this week of President Trump and the impeachment inquiry.

And that’s just from their own colleagues.

In an unusual airing of intramural grievances, Fox News anchors and pundits have let loose at one another in full public view - lobbing attacks across time slots and offering a rare glimpse into tensions behind the scenes at the top-rated cable news network.

In one striking exchange, a guest on Tucker Carlson’s prime-time show on Tuesday dismissed Andrew Napolitano, the veteran Fox News legal analyst, as a “fool” for saying Mr. Trump’s urging of a favor from the Ukrainian prime minister constituted a crime. ...

For all the trouble faced by Mr. Trump this week, Fox News’s viewership has remained high - in fact, higher than usual. ...

The New York Times - Kurt Volker, Trump’s Envoy for Ukraine, Resigns

Sept. 27, 2019

WASHINGTON - Kurt D. Volker, the State Department’s special envoy for Ukraine who got caught in the middle of the pressure campaign by President Trump and his lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, to find damaging information about Democrats, abruptly resigned his post on Friday.

Mr. Volker, who told Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday that he was stepping down, offered no public explanation, but a person informed about his decision said he concluded that it was impossible to be effective in his assignment given the developments of recent days. ...

... and another one bites the dust ... πŸ˜•
