Well as I said Hillary should have stepped aside. Anyway, just wondering, who will lead the opposition? Is there such a thing in the US congress? Is Hillary staying or retiring from politics?

Indicated she will stay, but can't see it happening. She is a lame duck now. She has twice run for President, held SOS, and held A Senate seat. Not much she can do that isn't down hill from here.

Bill looks really old lately, wonder how his health is? Perhaps she should have a rest and see what shakes out.

I can't wait to hear his 100 day plan to drain the swamp and see the plans for his new wall.

As is it now in the Senate and Congress. Clinton is now nothing Trump will be head of State which is not Senate or Congress.

Voters have started their plan already. Big protests and scuffles outside Trump Tower at the moment.

She should buy a Pickup and a boat and say stuff it and retire.

A lot of his ideas make some sense or a lot of sense. The stuff to do with limiting terms of congress people, and the stuff around lobbying is excellent. If he can get that done, expect to see some improvements overall.

I think you will find him revert his wall to a "concept" rather than a wall, or a wall in PARTS, so that patrolling the border becomes more manageable. He has also said he wants to streamline the process allowing people to get from Mexico legally if they meet criteria so that they don't have so many people TRYING to cross illegally.

Also expect to see a Germany type bringing "down" of the wall 16 years from now.

Meh, it's nothing, two weeks from now, people will have settled down a little. Their rioting etc won't really change anything.

Bottom line is, 1 in every 2 people decided they wanted him.

That's stupid, these protests by the anti Trump sector shows that the so called greatest democracy does not really believe in democracy.

Yes that is the new whiny way of it as we have seen with Brexit. Don't like the answer? Whine and stamp your tiny feet. After all, it's not as if your predecessors ever had to live with democratic outcomes they wanted less than a hole in the head, is it?

Fully agree. The world is getting used to it. But taking to the streets has become a stock reply by some Americans. Next thing a Latino will get hurt in one, then it escalates.

If protests start between supporters from both sides it could get nasty. Or as you say, fade, hopefully. IMHO I feel this activist like behaviour may well become common in upcoming weeks

yep that's democracy, you get the good you get the bad. If they don't want that then don't live in a democracy.

It'd be a very strange turn of events if a powerful megalomaniac leader, who on many occasions has incited hatred to gain popular support during his rise, is going to go around the world spreading love and peace.

He's pro-torture and said he'd deliberately "target and kill the families and children" of enemies.

The President does not rule alone, the President is not a Dictator.

But he might be after 4 years..  El President for life..

the thing i most worry about trump is his law and order policies , he is trying to overturn the Obama bill that stops military hardware going to the police and he wants police to be the main option in keeping crime under control by making them more pro active and aggressive with criminals. If he does their will be riots in the inner cities .

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Preliminary results indicate that turnout as % of voter age population was the lowest on record, at 48.62%

That's remarkably low under the circumstances.  More than half didn't care enough to vote?

Less than one in 4 people of voting age in the US cast a vote for Trump.  Clinton gained more popular votes by a small margin than Trump.
