Whoever wins, my money is on them being a one-term president.
Or shorter if someone gets sufficiently annoyed by them to remove them from office by rapid application of lead poisoning or other such method.
Obama got 8 years without a serious attempt on his life. Neither of these two candidates will have any trouble in that regard I don't think.
Man, I think they are going to miss Obama. What a cool guy.

Given Donald has already had a scare recently with an assassination if he gets into power it wouldn't surprise me if it was to be attempted again. Obama was nice to people and didnt seem to hate groups of people, let alone voice his views on it. Nor did he email from a private account and steal from Hati or what ever. Got to love the conspiracy

What scare? That thing a few days ago? It was a guy waving an anti trump banner. No gun involved.

Without giving it a lot of thought, have no idea why such an ignorant blusterer as Trump is so popular, and hence would rather hope Clinton wins. But then what do I know - I also thought the mother country wouldn't be dumb enough to vote for Brexit...
Trump for me, although I don't want that.
I believe was on target to be a landslide Republican win, except Trump has scuttled that, but they may still get there. Time for a change, they dislike Clinton, etc.

I dunno. Obama is a nice guy. He has a great personality. But these two are not that personality type. She can incite action for being voted in, as so many distrust her and see more years of no change. He will incite action, for what he has said about so many demographics.

Obama was black. Trumps both of those as far as some quarters of America are concerned. Interestingly, probably the same people happy to vote Trump.
Americans don't care who the nice guy is, they care about moving forward, in ANY direction. It's the vast majority of the reason people didn't vote for him a second time. They want action, any action.
If the Republicans get the house and senate and Clinton takes the Whitehouse, expect another 4-8 years of little or nothing being done, though the Republicans are a little less likely to block her just "because" like they did Obama.
Early (1%) results at http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president has Trump winning Indiana, Kentucky by 60+%, NH 52% to 41%. NH has been Democrat for the last 3 elections.
The locking of the Trump thread and using this thread as me goosebumps all over! Be afraid, be very afraid!
Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

Heh at 1% I wouldn't read anything into it.
To the OP, are you sure you didn't get the two names mixed up? Pretty much the entire rest of the world (the one run by sane leaders) would want Clinton elected for world stability, and the world economy. If Trump got in we would likely see a meltdown in the economy, and it may lead to a sharemarket collapse. This was somewhat proven when the Clinton FBI news came in last week, and sharemarkets dropped, to to the news heavily influencing the outcome. Also the last time the US went to war was when the republicans were in, and they seem to be the ones who are all for the right to bare guns. That law is just madness in a 21st century civil society.
It is funny that people in the US are now seeing Obama as being a good president, and infact he had good approval ratings throughout his term, even though he didn't do everything he was going to do. A vote for Clinton would be continuing down that road, and she is an old hand. She may also only have 1 term in her due to age. Soyou really have to look at her vice president will be, as they will likely be the one being groomed for the job. I think the main problem people have with Clinton, is unlike her husband, and Obama, her public perception isn't warm. She doesn't come across well. but we have had leaders in NZ like that too, who NZers eventually warmed to.
Clinton's problem is that she has the expression of a predatory bird. Trump's problem is that he has a mouth like an anus.

That is unfortunate about Clinton. I don't really understand that she doesn't come across better, considering she has been in it for so long. I think when she shouts, it is very shrill and off-putting. I mean if Bill was running instead of her, he would possibly have it in the bag. But it would be very superficial to vote for someone based on how they come across, rather than what they stand for. But I fear many people in the US vote on the person they see talking, and hey do tend to vote for celebrity and TV/movie figures. So if you want to become a president, become a movie or tv star first. Trump is a TV star, and comes across well on TV.
We are quite lucky in NZ,becuase we can watch the results live during the day. In the US, people will have to wake up to find out who has won.
