I wonder what the Labour ministers will end up doing

Running the government/country with NZF and the Greens. That's what MMP governments (including National governments and their coalition partners) do in New Zealand.

Incorrect, ACT and Maori got paid off and sent away, leaving National will full control.

Yeah I know they were just there for their votes. But how that is better than a coalition partner being given a full list of responsibilities, unless the 'senior partner' in the 'coalition' is running the government like a FPP government under MMP? (like National always do)

Labour/NZF/Greens. All responsibility is with Labour

They will then have a 100% mandate to do what they want, when they want, with whoever they want. As of they won a FPP election with 55% of the vote

Labour/NZF/Greens. Run as a coalitoin

The policies of all parties are diluted. No radical stuff. Agreed stuff. Should they work as a partnership, you would end up with a compromise Govt working together. Each party is involved and can support or show concerns, and end up with a better solution, rather than a Labour "we will do this, end of story"

You really dont understand how MMP works do you... I can give you the 'mince and cheese pie' explanation if you like.

Feel free. MMP decides the spread of the vote across big and small parties. Thats been done. Im talking about how the big and small parties might work in the 3 year term. Thats not decided by MMP stats, thats decided by negotiations, also been done. My points were the difference between this and the last government makeup. But let me know how MMP decides how the coalition will run post election.

Edit, the "Labour/NZF/Greens." lines should have been bolded as they are headings

While doing that, I'll take the actual Mince and Cheese pie, if there is one on offer.

The pie explanation is actually about how Bill has no friends.

That's easy. look it up yourself to see why.

Hint: It's difference between sharing the pie equally (Labour/NZF/Greens sharing social policies) or keeping the pie all to yourself (National's neo-liberal policies)

As several commentators have said, the failed neo-liberal experiment is dead.

We have a new government, the old one is out.

Time to move on, dont you think?

No idea, but I find this disappointing. I am a long time National voter, but not this year. Bill signs off with this

"We already have a more aspirational view for New Zealand than the incoming Government who are preparing us, apparently, for an economic slow-down."

Thats BS. The so called statement as everyone knows was from an economist on a radio talk show. Including it wont matter who is in Govt. So, IMHO, a bit sad, and no class Bill. Move on and get on with it, if they falter, hammer them, but a bit of class is preferred.

How does that relate to my post? Which says exactly the same, although when I posted it I did not bold the headings, which made them look like statements.

But as to your reply here, fully agree.

It actually started off as a steak and cheese pie but the lefties thought mince would be a better model of re-distribution amongst the masses.

What are you talking about? We already have a pie made of fish, peas and mutton.

It's now just a mince pie, as the cheesemaker closed down because minimum wage increases caused him to put up the price of cheese and the baker refused to order at the increased cost.

Has the minimum wage kept up with inflation over the years? If not, then the dairy paying minimum wage has been milking it...  :-)

It's funny how when John Key broke his pre-election promise to not raise GST and raised it anyway in order to finance tax cuts - big tax cuts for high earners - I didn't hear whining about how the resulting price increases were going to make the sky fall.
