WP has been proven to be a liar many many times. Just recall his "NO" slogans a few years back.

Phil Gifford says he heard the comments and thought at the time they were the most stupid comments made by a politician he had heard. I am sure WP has proven him wrong many times over since.

It would now appear that our deputy PM who would be in theory be our PM should anything happen to JA, has not only said something blatantly unacceptable but then lied outrightly about it multiple times since.

I am beginning to agree with others who feel like National dodged a bullet by not being prepared to offer him what he wanted.

I don’t like Winston Peters. I have never liked Winston Peters. I think he is a blowhard. He uses transparent distraction tactics to avoid honest questions and he is abusive and demeaning towards the media, who are only trying to do their jobs. Honestly, I think he is an overblown jerk (the word I really want to use is censored). For the lawsuit, I should probably make clear that I have never met Winston Peters, and my distaste is based entirely on TV coverage and media reports.

I am glad he decided to support a Labour/Green government, though I deeply regret that such a decision depended on such a self-serving egotistical overbearing manipulative overdressed turkey. I guess that demonstrates that even bad eggs can make good decisions.

I am sorry Jacinda has to keep him happy to keep governing, but I suppose anything is better than another three years of National. Maybe she can still get some good things done while he is off grandstanding. It is just a shame that a donkey orifice like that is needed to finally nudge nine years of disastrous backward government in a slightly more progressive direction.

Dodged that 12 year 350K/year bullet?

... the National party do not agree with you.

As usual, I have no idea what you are talking about. If you are suggesting that politicians are only doing it for the money, last time I checked Labour was full of politicians all earning $350K.

National Party are quite happy they arent if Government with Winston. They are happy with the election day result and happy they didnt give in to Winston as he wanted.

What Labour offered Winston out of desperation for power is still "secret", but it will surface in good time and is something no other party will ever offer again. Time will tell.

For me I am still eagerly awaiting my $16 Doctor visits and the other goodies that were promised.

Can I offer you some refreshment whilst you wait? I suspect you might find it a longer wait than the queue for the next iPhone!

I see Andrew Little is saying he won't be liable if something goes wrong with the Pike Re-Entry. Classy. Way to stand by your convictions. Like he always was, just all talk.

It’s always easy to talk a good game from the Opposition benches. Much harder once the rubber hits the road and Mr Reality comes to tea.

I am convinced Health & Safety will stop a human reentry, unless Winston makes good his promise to be first in.

For this topic I agree. IMHO it was a vote catcher.

However, the "Much harder once the rubber hits the road and Mr Reality comes to tea"  that actually cuts both ways. I see we have one million people exposed to unsafe drinking water. Price gouging with fuel is front page news. That is two examples where the Govt of the day owned those issues, and are now exposed to that. Just as its easy to oppose, it is easy to get busted as well.
