Well boy the press have certainly given JA plenty of undeserved press. She turns up pregnant and as woman and surprise surprise no one physically imposes themselves on her, or throws a sex toy. This is deemed a "success" by the press. Waitangi is "peaceful" and it's all her doing.

She just comes across as so fake to me, she says what people want to hear but in a kind of sickly unauthentic way. I'd *love* to hear what her *thoughts* are at the same time she is delivering these sickly speeches.

Really? I think this thread is fake.

Well, there is an option if you don't like the content of a thread.

You'll be in a coma as in your eyes she could not ever do anything wrong.

Your criticisms of her have been incredibly petty and insubstantial. So far she has done okay, though it is too early to know if she will be a great PM or a huge disappointment. Fortunately, your judgement will not determine that.

To me over the last few days she talks a lot and gets lots of claps...but she actually says nothing. When asked questions today by reporters on the topic of her speech she evaded answering. No substance!!!

Mine will, as much as anyone elses.

She has done nothing except lie, walk back policy, of and introduce policy which will hurt employment relations, unless of course you support returning to the 1980/90's and unionist NZ. Obviously, this is ok in your books.

Also, my criticisms of her are based on facts, published and confirmed by the media.

Are you aware that she has been spoken to by Treasury and warned that her sharp increase in minimum wage so quickly, will cost 58,000 jobs? Or is this fake news? Or is it you will wait for it to happen and THEN get upset about it?

I believe you are a fundamentally honest person, so I will pose you a challenge. At the end of her first term, assuming she makes it that far, I would like to ask your honest assessment of whether you think New Zealand as a whole is better or worse off than it was before she took office. Not are all the problems solved, and not are you personally better or worse off, and not did some exceptional external circumstance beyond everyone's control skew the result, but just if you think we as a country, are doing better or worse than we were before.

In order for me to make it an assessment you would consider reasonable, you would need to provide some metrics.

FWIW IMO It would take a miracle for them to turn around the damage they have already done, or are about to do. It doesn't take a full term to see that.

Also worth noting that I believe that a lot of the damage they are doing, will take years to realize, and fix afterward.

If you aren't concerned about the targets they have changed to significantly lower ones (trees, houses etc etc, and the lack of thought put into policies already implemented (like free year(s) of study), then short of them burning NZ to the ground, I can't see anything

concerning you, so long as it's green and red. Your support of the Greens though the MT thing, and your claim what she did wasn't any big deal, means the bar is exceptionally low for them to disappoint you.

Regardless of that, I believe that because you believe Labour/Greens is so much better than anything the right would provide, just "because", I doubt my assessment would carry any more weight than it does right now. You aren't likely to take what I say, and vote Blue next time.

I can't believe given how much you say you care about the environment, you aren't up a hill with a microphone screaming about the Kermadec Sanctuary that the Greens rolled over on. But hey, they are getting weed reconsidered, so that will save the planet, right?

I think the needle on the  record player of you haters needs to be replaced. Don't you ever get tired of being such moaners.  For goodness sake change your tune or go elsewhere. Come back in a year and see what has happened.  I would suggest that the Popularity of the PM will only increase after the last few days.  I don't see what being a woman and being pregnant has anything to  comment about in this forum.  I hope you have more respect for the women in your life than what you show to JA.

Actually, if it bothers you so much, you could always come back in a year.

This is a discussion on Labour/JA and if you think she is doing such a "great" job, you are welcome to show some facts to back it up.

It's not exclusively for good or bad points, it's only just so onesided because there is so much to criticize. :)

Your reply disappoints me. I thought you were better than that. Maybe someone more deserving is willing to take up my challenge.

So yet again, you aren't prepared to provide any facts and figures yourself, you just want everyone else to do it for you.

You are the one to put down the challenge, but it's an open challenge, so how are you going to judge the response? Your opinion soley? No facts or metrics?

Sounds reasonable.

I'm just asking you to give your honest assessment of the state of the country after the first term. Either you think things are better overall or you don't. It is up to you. If you don't want to do that it is also up to you. I don't really care anymore.

So far, she's only cost our household money, so not off to a good start here.

Although I don't take this kind of thing particularly seriously, here is Mike Hosking's (no less) assessment of Ardern's first 100 days:

Hosking said his laughter was not because of a presumptuous rating, but because he would have rated the success of the first 100 days much higher.

"I would have given you a 9.25 because you can't argue with the fact that you have done what you said you would do," he said.

From the NZ Herald
