The YouTube algorithm is demonetizing videos that include the word "New Zealand." I guess it's because of the shooting.

Here's the spreadsheet.

Unrelated a lot of other words are also demonetized such as LGBT, gay marriage, gay pride,

If you want to see just the demonetized words, download as excel first, and allow editing

Youtube's discriminatory LGBTQ demonetization and hidden ad tiers

See links in description to get white paper, and various documents.

One year today and no word on putting this murderer on trial.

Yes. I was out today but watching the Covid posts, not easy to reply. With all the virus stuff taking over, our Mosque affected cousins seemed quite happy that their big day was not the big news. Says a lot for them, a few I have met. We can learn from that.

As a broad generalisation, anniversaries and celebrations based on our solar calendar aren't a big thing with many muslims.  The cynic in me would say that our fixation with anniversaries is mainly a consequence of advertising.    Maybe they've got a better grip on some things, but as an atheist, it's not really my place to judge or compare.

As for the biggest loser of all, I don't care what happens to him. I probably won't read any news coverage about his trial - couldn't care less about the fallacious arguments his defense team will make, don't care what he has to say, what he looks like, nothing.  He's a nothing.  We all eventually die - and so will he.  The rest of his life has no consequence - and neither it should.

Just heard on ABC that shooter has plead guilty to all charges, eliminating need for trial.

Pleads guilty, convicted.

Good. No need for a circus.

That is a great outcome.

I wonder if it will be any comfort to the affected people? (Serious question).

I'd be surprised if this eliminates the need for a trial. The crown must prove it's case to obtain a conviction.

There will be no trial. He admitted it. Judge is now working on a date for sentencing.

He has already been convicted. On every count. The only thing remaining is sentencing.
