Anti-vaxxers arrive to protest for some reason:

NZHerald: A protestor - one of about half a dozen outside the venue - is holding a placard stating “Lest we forget, jab mandates”. Another protester is carrying a large black portable speaker and rap with anti-vax lyrics can be heard.

You have to be a total piece of shit to spoil someone else's special day, when that person is not even in an executive role for some time now.

Didn't they get the government they wanted?

They got Winston (borderline conspiracy theorist) in after driving Jacinda out. Maybe these losers just thrive on misery. I bet they're the life of the party 🙄

I was reading some of the comments on the Daily Mail site, which I never ordinarily visit and wish I hadn't. The venom and stupidity are hard to fathom. There are some really pathetically screwed up people in this country.

They're getting a bit of an earful now: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/live-updates-suppliers-arrive-at-hawkes-bay-vineyard-for-jacinda-arderns-wedding/MPK6QFWXYVEYLOWYSOX24J2BUU/

The protesters’ antics are now earning the ire of several passing motorists, slowing down and telling them to “get a life”.

Indeed.

Yep to the first bit and No I don't think for one minute they got the government they wanted. Winston might be friendly towards them but that's about as far as it goes.

However some people are so enamoured by her that they don't realise/understand that she is despised by a significant proportion of the population. I don't think Jacinda realises that either.

Jacinda and Clarke deserve to be able to enjoy their wedding celebrations with their friends without the interference of these people. To avoid the unwanted attention they should have stayed below the radar and avoided all the pre nuptial publicity. By allowing the media to hype it up they have made themselves a target.

Bigger media " celebrities " have managed to keep similar events out of the headlines and I'm sure Jacinda could have too.

I didn't realise that. Hard core anti-vaxxers sure but they are an insignificant proposition imo. I think you're talking about a larger proportion. How large?

Jeez, blame the victim. I don't see where they 'allowed the media to hype it up'. Most of the media kept going on about how they weren't going to reveal the location and security at the location was pretty strenuous. If you are a former prime minister with Jacinda Ardern's profile, it is pretty hard to walk down the street without being noticed. I think you are being unfair and unnecessarily petty here.

How did they 'allow it'? The venue location was pretty obvious to most people who have been to the Bay and it's overlooked by one of the major sight-seeing destinations in the District.

It would have been immediately obvious to anyone up there that something was happening.

Do you think they should have had it in the underground car park behind the Crown Hotel?

To be honest, I didn't even know they were getting married until I heard about it yesterday - not really a case of "the media hyping it up"; if they had we would have known about it for months beforehand.

As to "she is despised by a significant proportion of the population" I don't believe that's accurate either. Yes, I accept that some of the population don't like her, but how many are you referring to? 50%? 40? 30? 20? 10? 1?

How large? It's hard to know.

Other than puff pieces in the media the only people I can recall in recent times who speak about her in a positive manner are here on Geekzone and those are a subset of the total people on Geekzone. Outside of here I can't recall hearing anyone saying they like her.

Reactions range from indifference right through to extreme dislike. It's right across the range, vax proponents and anti vaxxers. It would be fair to say the anti vaxxers are more likely to be towards the extreme end of the spectrum.

YMMV depending on where you live and or the industry you work in.

In my opinion she is the most polarising PM since Robert Muldoon. For some she can walk on water while on the other hand she is absolutely detested by others. I'm not sure either side of the spectrum realises there could be another way to see Jacinda Ardern.

A country with many shallow whingers alright. She is a past PM, thats all. No need for a Secret Service wedding

So it's a bit unfair to categorically say it's a "significant portion" then, unless you can back it up with solid numbers.
