One thing JA did was make New Zealand seem cool. Somehow I just can't picture the current PM having that effect.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
Did you know he used to run an airline? Must be at least 40 seconds since we were last reminded of this fact 🙄
gzt: I think it's fair to say a large part of the more extreme reaction is female leader derangement syndrome or something like it. I recall some similar wackyness in the Clark years. At that point smartphones hardly existed. The extreme nutjobs had not discovered Facebook and probably didn't even have a computer.
Sadly that seems to be the issue. If J Ardern was an old while male, it would probably be "I dont/didnt like Labour" so ill just bitch about Labour (all good) or ill use the old white male mysogynistic card instead. But discreetly so it doesnt seem like that......

I suspect we're fickle enough that if Clark had become UN Secretary General then she would have switched to being a source of pride for many too. Kiwis are good like that.
However I suspect the desire to crack on at Ardern years after she left the job by picketing her wedding and the determination that positive headlines in the Guardian means we should overlook the developing issues in our country that the government made little progress in resolving or addressing are probably two sides of the same coin.

Hmm, ok. I guess NZ was in an awesome sweet place until 2017? The past Labour Govt is over, but its fickle and sad that the nit picking goes on and on and on about one person. My post stands.
Yes it was 100% awesome under National. They're going to make it awesome again by, uh...removing Maori language off road signs! Yes! That is exactly what keeps all Kiwis awake every night. Cost of living? Housing crisis? Stopping smoking? Totally unimportant.
Right?

Smokers get a green light, EV's get a red light. But that's ok, its Day 1 of the new Government, holidays are over, they promised to fix everything, get to it
