If Coutts so much as steps foot on Parliament grounds, his knighthood should be rescinded.

I think this thread and the protest one are now running in parallel. Stuff related only to the protest is probably better suited to the other thread even though there is some overlap.

As nice as that would be I don't think that would happen, it would set a fairly broad precedent.

@arcon: Coutts is joining next week who is as dumb as a donkey with his Nazi rhetoric.

That post?

If that's in reply to my request, I see nothing there to call it "nazi".

There is some stupid assertion like "I'm against creating different rights, laws and privileges based on Race." because there are no rules like this in the covid response.

There is stupid commentary about rules without the effort to understand why these rules are temporarily in place.

There is the "expert" in quotes.

But nothing nazi there.

So if you folks don't want to get banned or removed from this thread, don't bring Godwin's Law again.

Why would that be?

Because spreading misinformation about 'forced vaccinations' isn't something I'd consider as acceptable behaviour from someone with a knighthood.

No one is 'forcing' anyone to get vaccinated, unless you're a child going to a daycare and those rules pre-date Covid - and no one had a problem with that.

What we have is a clear set of consequences for people who exercise their choice not to get vaccinated. What he is calling 'forced vaccinations' is people who just don't want to live with the consequences of their actions. They have a choice, they just don't like not being in absolute control of the outcomes.

I see Canada is now removing vehicles, and arresting resistant protesters.

No Godwin from Coutts as far as I'm aware. Just stuff line this:

NZHerald: Coutts: "How New Zealand, a country where it's people greatly valued freedom off choice.....how we even got to this stage of blindly accepting this sort of unilateral rule, power and dictatorship from our government is deeply troubling indeed."

Again, the virus doesn't give a flying crap about your (Coutts's) "freedoms". All it cares about is, "are you vaccinated or not? No? Great, I'm going to hit you as hard as possible". Freedoms mean absolutely 0 to something like coronavirus.

Edit: as illustrated by some of the people Stuff spoke to for this article: https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/127803126/distrust-and-freedom-why-the-parliament-protesters-came-and-stayed

"...the virus won't affect me..." - care to revisit that if you catch it? I beg to differ.

Please keep up. The Godwin Law was invoked by a user who called it nazi comments. IDGAF what Coutts said. I am moderating what people posted in here.

I don't agree. Whilst there is always a choice, for anti mandate people it's a choice between having a vaccination they don't want, don't believe in, or don't trust, or feed their family.

Not a real choice for most people really.

Actually, the virus treats everyone the same, regardless of vaccination. It's that the vaccination for most people, limits the damage the virus can do.
