And that's a bad thing?!
Who else has a robot, with the movement and dexterity of the Optimus, that can be remotely operated?

Any hospital that does Robot-assisted surgeries. :)

I assume what you really mean is a Humanoid robot with fine dexterity and motor skills

CYaBro:

Cybertruck Q3 deliveries: 16,692

Now the 3rd best selling EV in the US and it currently costs $100k!
And they're still ramping up production.

Beat all of these combined:

Ford F-150 Lightning: 7,162
Chevrolet Silverado EV: 1,995
Rivian R1T: 3,817

Lots of people originally said the Cybertruck would never happen too...

Are the type of people who drive Ford F-150s the same types who think EVs (even the Cybertruck) are for "omega soyboys"?

freitasm: Leading Insurance Companies are Terminating Tesla Cybertrucks Insurance Coverage - Vehiclesuggest

I truly admired Musk, and was waiting on the promised impressive truck Musk for a 2021 delivery. Not for its looks but because of the promised price and range. US $39,900 and a range of 500 miles instead of today's US $60,990 with a range of 340 miles.

That price and range is not even realistic today, much less in 2021. Today Tesla Model S Long Range is US $74,380, range is 405 miles.

If he had concentrated on Tesla and SpaceX, never bought Twitter, experimented on human brains, funded Trump's campaign, he would have remained a revered figure. Bonus points if he cared for any of his children, except the one.

If anyone's looking for a good example of schadenfreude should read freitasm's linked article.

Can we change the title of this thread?

To what?

  • Elon Musk, definitely not The Man or God

  • Masterful Gambit, Elon Musk

  • Elon Musk, the doofus billionaire

  • Elon Musk, the alt-right Q Cultist MAGAturd

Because that's what I think when his name crosses my mind.

The last one works for me

So its not worth the trip to Vegas to see Elon Musks rapid transit tunnel ?

Len Brown might be looking for new, innovative, revolutionary ideas for the Auckland harbour crossing.
Giant Wilsons carparks at each side and a rather claustrophobic pedestrian ride in a Tesla

Then oh, your car is on the other side, guess you need a Taxi then.

Of course. And how much do those medical robots cost?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Elon Musk’s messy divorce with California leaves ugly grievances all around:LA Times
...
“California, through tax credits, [electric vehicle] subsidies and training grants made Elon successful,” Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, president of the California Labor Federation, said via text. That amounts to “hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars, for him to continually spit in the face of California’s workers & taxpayers.”

Edward Niedermeyer, author of “Ludicrous: The Unvarnished Story of Tesla Motors,” said Musk was happy to benefit from California’s largesse when it suited him and to move on when he saw fit.

“I think Musk has made the calculation that he’s gotten all the benefits he’s likely to get out of the state and he’s moving on to the next one,” Niedermeyer said. “The state of California clearly thought that all its work bought loyalty [from Musk] but, instead, I think it bought a sense of entitlement.”

Musk: "I think this will be the biggest product ever, of any kind. I think everyone is going to want their Optimus buddy, maybe two."

Medical robots manufacturers don't pretend to be A.I. powered "buddies"

Even now, Musk is being very coy about if his robots are just expensive puppets, masquerading as buddies. I guess the future of Musk' buddies taking caring of owner's children are remote controlled low-paid third-world puppet masters.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

The ex-President & the world's supposedly richest man might fall out big time, and blame each other for the loss. Or they might blame foreign interferenece (unless it's the Kremlin).

Ancient Gods had a hierarchy, so unsurprising one God bows to another.

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and a linchpin of U.S. space efforts, has been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022.
https://www.wsj.com/world/russia/musk-putin-secret-conversations-37e1c187?mod=WSJ_Euronews

""
At one point, Putin asked the billionaire to avoid activating his Starlink satellite internet service over Taiwan as a favor to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, said two people briefed on the request.
""
But more conversations have followed, including dialogues with other high-ranking Russian officials past 2022 and into this year. One of the officials was Sergei Kiriyenko, Putin’s first deputy chief of staff, two of the officials said. What the two talked about isn’t clear.

Last month, the U.S. Justice Department said in an affidavit that Kiriyenko had created some 30 internet domains to spread Russian disinformation, including on Musk’s X, where it was meant to erode support for Ukraine and manipulate American voters ahead of the presidential election.

This is the kind of stuff that comes under the Logan Act and Espionage Act in the US. Or will it be just like Ford & GM selling trucks to the 3rd Reich & getting slapped with a wet bus ticket?

Is there any doubt this guy shouldn't be dealing with government contracts or even other humans for that matter?
