CCP oddly enough has militarized fishing boats a kind of seaborne territorial guard.

Its intentionally ambiguous. Aiding Taiwan may or may not mean US weaponry and people are directly involved. Biden inferred they would go in, which was walked back later.

 

The US and West are defending Ukraine, via aid. That continues to have extraordinary costs in all forms, and basically it has gone nowhere.
