Does Seymour really think people want a Death Star over Auckland? Does he think our aspiration is to remove barriers to creating destruction tools?

Does MAGA realise the Empire are the baddies and the "Radical Left Lunatics" are the Jedi Order and The Rebellion?

The Texas Solicitor General can exercise almost all statutory functions of the Attorney-General. The Texas office has a reputation for attracting conservative lawyers from around the USA, usually as a stepping stone to becoming a judge.

In theory the position of Solicitor General is supposed to be non-political. Recently this fired Texas Solicitor General worked hard nationwide to ban asylum seekers at the US Mexican border from entering the US. This often happens without giving asylum seekers a hearing.

Texas law bans most abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy. The same Solicitor General argued for a novel enforcement mechanism: private citizens, rather than state officials, may enforce the abortion law by filing suits filed in state court.

Here's a PG version of the two powerful top-ranking members of Texas Attorney-General office, sanitized version by Fox news.

The NY Times - On the Campaign Trail, Elon Musk Juggled Drugs and Family Drama  (free unlocked link)

30 May 2025

As Elon Musk became one of Donald J. Trump’s closest allies last year, leading raucous rallies and donating about $275 million to help him win the presidency, he was also using drugs far more intensely than previously known ...

Mr. Musk’s drug consumption went well beyond occasional use.

He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms.

And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it.

It is unclear whether Mr. Musk, 53, was taking drugs when he became a fixture at the White House this year and was handed the power to slash the federal bureaucracy. But he has exhibited erratic behavior, insulting cabinet members, gesturing like a Nazi and garbling his answers in a staged interview. ...

EDIT:  and ...

Lest now add Act/Seymour who is going down the rabbit hole with conspiracy theories.

We do not want Trump style BS in NZ politics, it is all based on hate, bigotry, sexism, racism, anodising the word "woke" as a fill in word to allow people to insert their own BS.

His bill failed because no one wanted it.

The Washington Post - Five Proud Boys leaders sue Justice Department over Jan. 6 prosecutions

Five leaders of the Proud Boys, four of whom were found guilty of engaging in a seditious conspiracy to keep President Donald Trump in power on Jan. 6, 2021, want the government to pay them $100 million in restitution over claims their constitutional rights were violated, according to a federal lawsuit filed Friday in Florida.

We need to revoke Peter Theil's citizenship.

He is stoking the troubles in the USA, and we DO NOT WANT that BS here.

He chose NZ, because if it all turns to sh!t and a serious war breaks out, he has a bolt hole.

We are NOT a refuge for wannabe dictators

The Washington Post - RFK Jr. ousts all members of CDC vaccine advisory panel

09 June 2025

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Monday that he was removing the entire membership of the influential vaccine advisory panel that makes immunization recommendations to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal, Kennedy said he was making the unprecedented move to retire the 17 independent vaccine experts from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices because the panel has been “plagued with persistent conflicts of interest” and has become a “rubber stamp” for vaccines.

Kennedy is a rabid antivaxxer and conspiracy theorist, with no medical training or experience, in a position of great power.

Literally millions of American lives are at stake here.

Recently more than a million Americans died during the first Covid epidemic, many of them unvaccinated.
