Being a deplorable, con person is something that has been happening for decades. This is a long article but if you want to skip to the section "An oilfield in the placenta" you will see the conservative party in the USA has been hustling and taking money from deplorables for a long time (the article is dated 2012): The Long Con | Rick Perlstein (thebaffler.com)

Christopher Worrell, circled, on Jan. 6, 2021

The NY Times - Florida Proud Boy Sentenced to 10 Years in Capitol Attack

04 Jan 2024

A Proud Boy from Florida who went on the run after being convicted of using pepper spray on police officers during the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was sentenced on Thursday to 10 years in prison. ...

Worrell used his pepper spray on a group of police officers, allowing a portion of the mob to surge up stairs outside the Capitol and become some of the first rioters to break into the building. ...

In August, just four days before his initial date for sentencing, Mr. Worrell cut off his G.P.S. ankle monitor in the parking lot of a Walmart and went on the run.

He was ultimately caught six weeks later at his home in Naples, Fla., and returned to Washington for a new sentencing hearing.

... and another one bites the dust ...  😉

Emily Maitlis, interviewer: July of this year [2019], Epstein was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and abusing dozens of underage girls. One of the Epstein's accusers, Virginia Roberts…

Prince Andrew: Yeah.

EM: … has made allegations against you. She says she met you in 2001, she says she dined with you, danced with you at Tramp Nightclub in London. She went on to have sex with you ... Your response?

PA: I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.

EM: You don't remember meeting her?

PA: No. ... It didn't happen.

EM: Do you remember her?

PA: No, I've no recollection of ever meeting her, I'm almost, in fact I'm convinced that I was never in Tramps with her. There are a number of things that are wrong with that story, one of which is that I don't know where the bar is in Tramps. I don't drink ...

EM: Do you remember dancing at Tramp?

PA: No, that couldn't have happened because the date that's being suggested I was at home with the children.

EM: You know that you were at home with the children, was it a memorable night?

PA: On that particular day that we now understand is the date which is the 10th of March, I was at home, I was with the children and I'd taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express
...
EM: Why would you remember that so specifically? Why would you remember a Pizza Express birthday and being at home?

PA: Because going to Pizza Express in Woking is an unusual thing for me to do
...
EM: So you're absolutely sure that you were at home on the 10th March?

PA: Yeah.

EM: She was very specific about that night, she described dancing with you.

PA: No.

EM: And you profusely sweating and that she went on to have bath possibly.

PA: There's a slight problem with the sweating because I have a peculiar medical condition which is that I don't sweat or I didn't sweat at the time and that was… was it… yes, I didn't sweat at the time because I had suffered what I would describe as an overdose of adrenalin in the Falkland's War when I was shot at and I simply… it was almost impossible for me to sweat.

BBC News: Prince Andrew: BBC's Newsnight interview to be turned into a film

The story behind the BBC's explosive 2019 interview with Prince Andrew is being turned into a feature film.

The Newsnight interview, in which the prince talked about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, made headlines around the world.

The movie, called Scoop, will dramatise how the show secured the interview, as well as the filming of it.
...
The interview was widely regarded as a "car crash" and the whole episode has done huge damage to the prince's reputation.

What a load of bs. I hope this case gets thrown out before it goes anywhere. Her family should be suing Trump, since he started the whole circus to begin with! 😠

From the article: ""Ashli did not go to Washington as part of a group or for any unlawful or nefarious purpose," the lawsuit says. "She was there to exercise what she believed were her God-given, American liberties and freedoms."

quickymart I agree.

You can hear a resurrectionist say "got a gun".

You can't hear the police on the recording below. On a different one where you can hear the police, you hear multiple times "stop or we'll shoot." Instead she pushes past the police barricade with a backpack on her back.

She believed wrongly, and this lawsuit should be rejected on the basis of why she was really there - it certainly wasn't for the reason in the lawsuit.

Unsurprisingly, the orange buffoon often makes this woman out to be a martyr at his rallies, when she was anything but. She was just as bad as the rest of the thugs who were there fighting for Trump.

Funny now how he needs their votes he starts to "care" about them - yet right after January 6 he was happy to hang them all out to dry as they failed to do what he wanted 🙄

You never, ever hear about Trump paying for any of their lawyer's bills or doing anything along those lines, simply because as his group of thugs didn't achieve his goal, they ceased to be useful to him. And the hardcore MAGA crowd are such a bunch of gullible suckers, I can see something similar happening over and over again.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/01/07/lauren-boebert-colorado-district-00134137 >> this idiotic mouthy MAGA deplorable almost lost her seat in 2022. Rather than tone down her antics, she just jumps ship to a neighbouring district. I hope she loses big time there, maybe she'll start acting like an adult then? 🙄

Oh, well. At least he found a different tie to wear in this interview as opposed to his one yellow one, which seems to be the only tie he has 😀

Roger Stone: Trump adviser. self-proclaimed 'dirty trickster,' guilty on all charges seven counts of lying to the U.S. Congress, obstruction and witness tampering. Pardoned by Trump

Eric Swalwell: Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, a leading democrat, from California

Jerry Nadler: Similar to Eric, but from New York.

mediaite: Roger Stone Spoke with cop pal about assassinating Eric Swalwell and Jerry Nadler

Weeks before the 2020 presidential election, infamous political operative Roger Stone sat across from his associate Sal Greco at a restaurant in Florida.

At the time, Greco was an NYPD cop working security for Stone on the side. Their conversation, at Caffe Europa in Fort Lauderdale, focused on two House Democrats for whom Stone harbors particular animosity, Jerry Nadler and Eric Swalwell.

In audio of the conversation obtained exclusively by Mediaite, Stone made threatening comments about the two lawmakers.

“It’s time to do it,” Stone told Greco. “Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it. It’s either Nadler or Swalwell has to die before the election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this shit anymore.”

A source familiar with the discussion told Mediate they believed Stone’s remarks were serious. “It was definitely concerning that he was constantly planning violence with an New York police department officer and other militia groups,” the source said.

Deplorable Republicans get called out (and owned) by a not-deplorable Democrat, who also manages to make a very good point.

Just about finished Liz Cheney's book and she actually fully agrees with me:

Donald Trump has repeatedly said he blames Ashli Babbitt’s death on the Capitol Police. Yet if anyone other than Ashli Babbitt is responsible for her death, it is Donald Trump. She died trying to keep Donald Trump in office. She died because she believed Donald Trump’s lies. Donald Trump could have and should have put a stop to all of this before she died. This was his responsibility.
