The second image reminds me of a meme I saw recently (which I can't find at the moment) which basically says "I'm struggling in the Bible to find the passage where it says you need an AR-15" or words to that effect, which I thought was also quite clever.

If you talk to an evangelist, and they are justifying violence, even genocide they'll quickly devolve into Old Testament parables.

But if you bring the Old Testament as an opposing argument, suddenly it's about tolerance and Jesus.

I take my hat off to the bravery of this young lass, standing up to nasty bullies like Trump and Mark Meadows. I had no idea these things like this had happened in Georgia after the election.

For most people, it's good advice to not piss off a judge. Unless you're Trump, then I advise you to remain steadfast in pissing off judges.

Washington Post: January 6 rioter got his sentence thrown out. Then his prison time doubled.

James Little successfully argued that his punishment for joining the pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol was illegal. His reward: 60 more days behind bars.

In a scathing statement from the bench, Judge Royce C. Lamberth said Thursday that he was worried about “further danger to our country” because of Little and others’ “shameless attempts ... to misinterpret or misrepresent what happened” on January 6, 2021.

While his audience was Little, a 53-year-old North Carolina truck driver, the judge also alluded to comments made by Republican lawmakers, including what he called a “preposterous” statement from Representative Elise Stefanik (New York) calling Jan. 6 defendants “hostages.” “I have been shocked to watch some public figures try to rewrite history,” Lamberth said. “It’s up to the court to tell the truth. I hope a little truth will go a long way.”

Little was first sentenced by Lamberth in early 2022 to 60 days in prison and three years of probation after pleading guilty to illegally parading at the Capitol. But Little’s public defenders argued prison time and probation can’t be combined for a single “petty” misdemeanor charge. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit agreed.

When the ruling came down in August, Little had already served his time behind bars and about half his probation, so he asked to be set loose. Instead, Lamberth sentenced him anew to two more months in prison, saying Little had shown no remorse or respect for the criminal justice system since the riot.

“This is a matter of right versus wrong,” Lamberth said. “Mr. Little cannot bring himself to admit he did the wrong thing.” Little, appearing by video from his home in Claremont, N.C., shook his head and rolled his eyes as the judge spoke, occasionally muttering to himself.

"Meidas Touch" bias is left of center, so take it with a grain of salt.

But Ted Cruz is easy for anyone to hate. For a second year, Texas has had electrical grid problems during Winter. Ted attempted to joke, for a second year, "meet me in [Mexico resort town] Cancun." It wasn't funny the first year.

Meidas Touch: Is Ted Cruz Starting to Panic Just a Little About His Re-Election?

Ted Cruz has spent the past couple of years promoting his podcast, selling his books, vacationing in Cancun, kissing up to Trump, and traveling the country helping other candidates lose. Now, the [pro-gun] NRA's favorite Senator is hitting the panic button on his race with the latest poll and fundraising numbers causing him some concern.

Look, we've been down this road before. We have gotten our hopes up that Texas might be ready to flip blue only to be disappointed. But the demographics of Texas are changing and Ted is facing a formidable challenger in popular Congressman Colin Allred. Allred is a lawyer and former NFL player who also served in the Obama Administration. Allred's fundraising has also been strong. ...

Ted certainly sounds concerned:

"I'm right now in a very tough re-election race in Texas.

The Democrats, [Democratic Majority Leader of the United States Senate] Chuck Schumer has made it clear I'm his number one target.

The Democrats intend to spend over $100 million to defeat me in Texas.

We just had a poll last week that showed it at a one point race.

Yet, we can expect [Republican Minority Leader of the United States Senate] Mitch again not to spend any money to defend me."

Must be time for him to run off to Cancun again, leaving Texas behind because, well, he doesn't care about anyone but himself (oh, and Trump, of course).

I'd love to see him lose, Christ knows he deserves to.

The NY Times - Republican Impeachment of Mayorkas Fails

breaking

The United States House of Representatives rejected impeachment charges against Alejandro N. Mayorkas, the homeland security secretary, on Tuesday after a small group of Republicans * broke with their party and refused to support what amounted to a partisan indictment of President Biden’s immigration policies.

The 216-214 [vote] dealt a stunning defeat to Speaker Mike Johnson, who had expressed confidence that he had the votes to charge Mr. Mayorkas with high crimes and misdemeanors for failing to lock down the United States border with Mexico amid a migrant surge, a move that Republicans have been promising for more than a year.

*  4 Republicans crossed the line.

Lennin, Stalin etc were Accelerationists, they thought they had science of Marx on their side, its easy.
Lets not wait for evolution of society and speedrun with a revolution.
We think peasants can grow twice as much, maybe 10x with our superior society.
They aren't, they are dying, well its not our science thats wrong they are lazy counterrevolutionaries.
We are better off to have got rid of most off them quickly.

Mao's Great Leap Forward that killed countless numbers.
I just tell peasants to make Iron and they will make it or they 'don't make it', etc.
Lets get rid of birds, oh we have a problem with insects and pests, who knew, oh those people who objected that I killed.
Such is progress what about that promise of 20x food production as we are better than Stalin.
Oh dead starving peasants, they were lazy counterrevolutionaries anyway, best we got rid of them faster than Stalin got rid of his.

Fairly samey.  Old idea new paint ?

HA HA! And of course, Trump is nowhere in sight to save his former staffer, as per usual with people he no longer deems "useful". He might make a raging post about the situation on Truth Social, but I don't see him stepping up to do anything else.

Country music, for former Peter Navarro: Trump adviser and Former Director of the United States Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy.

He was sentenced last month to four months behind bars after being found guilty of defying a subpoena for documents and a deposition from the House January 6 committee.

So close, but not quite powerful enough to avoid serving time. Sucks not be be King Trump.

RawStory - Putin pulled a 'classic power move' to 'humiliate' Tucker Carlson: FT Moscow bureau chief

09 Feb 2024

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson conducted a much-hyped interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week that mostly consisted of Putin lecturing Carlson about Russian history while barely letting him get a word in. ...

Seddon noted that Putin embarrassed Carlson despite the fact that Carlson had gone out of his way to lob softball questions at him while also in the past praising his nation for supposedly upholding traditional Christian values. ...

Carlson has frequently parroted Kremlin talking points about the war in Ukraine over the years, and at one point even went so far as to say he was rooting for Russian to win the conflict.

Tucker got exactly what he deserved.  🙃

He deserved a big payday :-)
We have seen him fawn over Trump repeatedly yet in private mails revealed in the voting machine case.

His private views of Trump are quite the opposite.
Then its more fawning interviews of Trump etc.

Tucker and his family in dealings with Hungary its all about the payday,
and grifting MAGA's he may despise himself.

Tucker and Rupert Murdock were perfect for each other, and despite break up they are on same path.

They would never eat here, customers are stupid and deserve it.
