What I find appalling is that a hate group like destiny church can get tax exemption.
I will go one step further in that as an atheist I find it abhorrent that I am expected to subsidise ANY religious group via their tax free status.
Simple solution to that- remove "furtherance of religion" as a charitable activity. Churches would then only be able to deduct actual charitable activities - the Seventh Day Adventists for example would still pay less tax because of the amount of funds they channel to ADRA that actually does do good work in the aftermath of natural disasters and other crises, but the Catholic Church would, uh, pay a lot more. Tamaki would certainly be leading a much less lavish lifestyle.
It's a mystery to me why evangelical and pentacostal "churches" like Destiny Church and Church Unlimited are even allowed to exist. They do absolutely nothing good for the public - they're a plague.
