I have a feeling this court case of his is going to go just as smoothly as the "I expect to get 20% of the vote this election" line from last year.

Do you think he cares. He’s not paying, all his gullible sycophants are.

Does that sound familiar?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Oh he is trying to farm his supporters for money to finance the lawsuit.
Much like the Politics venture was just a money grab.

Evangelicals, of course Jesus was all about the money in their bible.

Lets be the bad Samaritans, that is the true message.
Turning of cheeks, its just smitey almighty.

No mind too small for this one.

9,000 votes (I presume from his followers) is hardly going to be filling his coffers with trillions of dollars though, is it?

I think he's just doing this to get attention to...um...? but most of the commentary I've seen towards this ridiculous court case he wants to bring is overwhelmingly negative and has very little public support outside of his "church".

True, he probably doesn't care, but it sure will be funny to watch him lose and then go on a massive rant about how he lost at next Sunday's service (just like he did after the election) πŸ˜€

Some more Trump deplorables get what's coming from them:

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/04/biggs-gosar-arizona-subpoenas-00150416 >> two of his allies in the government face subpoenas over the fake elector scheme

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/04/jeffrey-clark-ethics-rules-00150631 >> a wannabe environment lawyer who tried to insert himself into said fake elector scheme also finds that strangely things aren't going the way he thought they would. I wonder why πŸ™„

Losing in court case won't be enough to ruin him. If anything, all, not some, of his charitable statuses need to be revoked. And it'll be even funnier if he gets classified as a gang leader & finds himself in the same ranks as Black Power & the Mongrel Mob.

Not safe for work ... because it's Republican Lauren Boebert.

The joke about Lauren Boebert's family reunion showed police mugshots of her close relatives.

Sloppy drunk Lauren Boebert cut off from alcohol at GOP event

I find it interesting he claims it's "misappropriation of ratepayer funds". Last I checked, LGBTQIA+ people were also ratepayers, and therefore also entitled to council spending - not to mention drag queen storytime at the library likely costs very little (a performance fee at most) or nothing (if the queen is volunteering, which is possible).

About the only thing there might be a question of is if a rainbow pedestrian crossing technically counts as a pedestrian crossing. It doesn't meet the requirements in the Waka Kotahi specification, which WK/NZTA says makes enforcement difficult as it provides a technical defence to an "errant road user".

I wouldn't put it past someone with a screw loose like Tamaki to drive around the block in circles and not stopping at the crossing for people wanting to cross because it's not white.

What I find appalling is that a hate group like destiny church can get tax exemption.

I will go one step further in that as an atheist I find it abhorrent that I am expected to subsidise ANY religious group via their tax free status.

I agree, I don't think he actually runs a legitimate "church" at all (not the ones I grew up going to, anyway), and I think he should be paying taxes like the rest of us.

Simple solution to that- remove "furtherance of religion" as a charitable activity. Churches would then only be able to deduct actual charitable activities - the Seventh Day Adventists for example would still pay less tax because of the amount of funds they channel to ADRA that actually does do good work in the aftermath of natural disasters and other crises, but the Catholic Church would, uh, pay a lot more. Tamaki would certainly be leading a much less lavish lifestyle.

It's a mystery to me why evangelical and pentacostal "churches" like Destiny Church and Church Unlimited are even allowed to exist. They do absolutely nothing good for the public - they're a plague.

A good rule of thumb to distinguish between normal religions and fundy ones:

Oh no, Reality Check Media is offline and needs money to continue spreading this kind of fear-based content:

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind. As I said in the other thread, guess they're not half as popular (or needed) as they think they are πŸ˜„

That list = nothing but scaremongering. Maybe they're trying to scare their followers into making donations to them? Voices for Freedom not so financially viable anymore?

Speaking of which, those donation options, LOL. Still, at least I suppose they didn't go down the Liz Gunn road of asking for million dollar donations πŸ˜„

Stupid conspiracy theorists that don't believe in science, think the eclipse was a sign from god, and since the sun was created by their god there would be no problem in looking directly at it.
