SaltyNZ: But if he could, he would. He doesn't want to have to wait for some other pleb to rubber stamp his demands. It should just happen. Immediately.
Popular with dictators everywhere. There's even a name for it, "Führer Sofortprogramm", something like "right-this-instant program".

Freddie Mercury would be top of the list to deport: not an American, and also gay.

There's a UK grifter in Montecito at the moment, that just might be
Batman: how can one trust these numbers post election when every other number they got from their "Polls" pre election were wrong?
Follow that rabbit hole all the way down and you might find something.

Something I'm curious about. Did the Green Party's Jill Stein or any other combination of 3rd party candidates cost Harris a win in any state? or even come close?
Probably not because no one seems to be talking about it : ) Google's automatic AP results for some context:
Donald Trump
312 electoral votes
Republican Party
75,112,005 votes (50.3%)
Kamala Harris
226 electoral votes
Democratic Party
71,816,262 votes (48.1%)
Jill Stein
0 electoral votes
Green Party
720,618 votes (0.5%)
Robert Kennedy
0 electoral votes
Independent
692,576 votes (0.5%)
Chase Oliver
0 electoral votes
Libertarian Party
615,979 votes (0.4%)
Other candidates
0 electoral votes
363,448 votes (0.2%)
The Greens did have a bad start this time with Cornel West pulling out during selection. In 2016 they got 1,457,216. Green Party Ralph Nader got 2,882,955 in 2000.
I've seen one or two commentators use the word "landslide". After casting my eye over the results I disagree.
A close election, yes. Not a landslide. This MSNBC host gives some historical context:
also says most past presidential administrations have had most nominees confirmed within hours because there was nothing much to object to, and the nominees were clearly sane. The host contrasts that to a possible nomination hearing for RFK proposed as health minister - sexual assault allegations, mothers whose children were harmed after taking his antivax advice. It would be a long list to get through. That's just one nominee. It is not surprising Trump wants to avoid the whole thing.
It does seem that turnout was not like last time?
Trump term still fresh in the mind a portion of the 40% 'or more' who don't vote regularly finally found a reason to bother.
Seems 'this time' it was just to hard again, my vote does not matter, or requires acceptance of compromises.
Some of the Roger Stone dirty tricks he once boosted of did include supporting the extreme end of your opponent.
It both tars your opponent with an extreme brush 'look what their people are saying'.
It also makes it likely that more of your opponents base will not vote for them as their candidate looks to be not doing enough.
Taking focus from the fact that 'sitting this out' in protest ensures a dramatically worse outcome.
Absolutism is corrosive to democracy.
MAGAS starting to eat each other?
It's like I said in the other thread; Trump and Musk both have enormous egos, and Trump detests sharing the limelight with anyone. I predict it's just a matter of time until Musk is (somehow) pushed out.
MAGA always turn against themselves - remember Kari Lake, the Trump wannabe "in a dress"?
Turns out she was secretly recording other Republicans without their knowledge, resulting in hardly anyone wanting to speak to her in the end.
There was a train of thought that Trump winning Arizona might have helped her, but to no avail. He won, but she lost.

Hinkle is actually a Commie who supports Hamas/Houthis/Russia/China etc
But everyone is attacking each other over there
(currently trending is the blame of Biden/Pelosi for the dismal election results)
A far-right Republican who was investigated for sex crimes and was also responsible for a leadership coup that paralysed the US Congress for weeks has been nominated by Donald Trump to be America’s new attorney general.'
MSNBC analysis. "woke is broke". Also i hear MSNBC is up for sale after ratings tank after the election?

No, it's the Daily Mail's interpretation of MSNBC, which is like some guy down the pub giving his opinion on something he overhead on the bus.
The NY Times - Republicans win House control, cementing a G.O.P. trifecta
breaking
Republicans cemented their control of the House on Wednesday after holding onto a handful of critical seats in Arizona and California and defeating incumbent Democrats in key battleground districts, handing the G.O.P. a governing trifecta in Washington to enact President-elect Donald J. Trump’s agenda.
RIP democracy in the USA. ๐
