Despite Trump saying on that candid deliberate golf cart video how terrible she is, he is afraid to Debate with her on largely center ground. That will have to be sold as hes crazy scared because he know she is a very good Prosecutor and his own legal team wouldnt even let him take the witness box in NY "hush money case", she would tear him apart.

and here I was worrying how are they going to target the Nikki Haley ~20% protest votes. It might become a group like the Republicans anybody but Trump on Twitter.

Would it be possible for Nikki Haley to defect to Democrats post RNC convention? That would be hilarious. Tell Trump she was just trolling him wit her endorsement speech and she plans to work with Kamala on all the "normal" republican issues so they can work bi-partisan without the poison of Trump and the Christo-Fascist movement to remove US democracy. :-)

in the Red states you can put a monkey there and they will vote Red

in the Blue states you can put a donkey there and they will vote Blue

but the swing states is where it's won or lost

Give it some time, she wouldnt poll differently as a younger prefered candidate because she simply wasnt a candidate, now she is. If it doesnt change by the convention I would expect the vote by delegates to decide who is top of the ticket.

Vance is a clown. How does he believe his own BS. More poor me rhetoric, Kamala hasnt had to struggle and achieved anything in her life..

Im from the roughest town in america, makes south central La pleasent, then I became a marine (no no,not like Wes Mooe leading troops in conflict, I was just there writing papers in an office) which I used the system to better myself and get 3 jobs via my Gay friend Mr Thiel (who we will have to lock up when we get into office as the good lord does not allow same sex folk) and I failed all the jobs,so I asked the chump for money to start a business, but it failed as Im lazy, so I thought, this guy wil give me money for..... our friendship, so boom more suitcases of cash to try again, but yeh, that failed too, and now Ive been in politics for a minute and somehow I earned the right to lead this country, I mean running mate of Mr Trump who we all know is amazing as we saw him on Real TV show "apprentice". Thats what Ive done Kamala, what have you done? (Id not go their JD)

yep, I predicted this. But want I dont know how to predict is what happens if another candidate who has maybe done more ie the real JD Vance aka Wes Moore, does all the Biden/Harris money get sent back to donors? then there would be crazy donation amounts post Dem Convention.

Vance is a ship talker and a nothing with a HUGE mouth, all amplified by fox/sky/twitter.

I wonder if Trump is indeed having a bit of buyer's remorse now. I suppose at the time he chose him, his thinking was that he would be debating Joe, and James would be debating Kamala, and it would be nice and easy and straightforward.

Now it's all completely changed and (probably) he's going to be debating Kamala and James will be debating...?

Donald Trump, for one, seems worried that Haley may have been right. Last night, in the midst of a bunch of mean-spirited Truth Social posts mocking Joe Biden, he complained:

So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race. Now we have to start all over again. Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?

“Now we have to start all over again” is the tell.

Trump and his team were confident they’d defeat Biden. Now it’s a new game. And while Trump still has to be favored to win in November, he’s a less prohibitive favorite today, in a more unpredictable race.

And he knows it.

There was a second Trump post worth noting:

My debate with Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the history of the United States, was slated to be broadcast on Fake News ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, sometime in September. Now that Joe has, not surprisingly, has quit the race, I think the Debate, with whomever the Radical Left Democrats choose, should be held on FoxNews, rather than very biased ABC. Thank you! DJT

So Trump’s not so keen to debate the new Democratic nominee, and is beginning to create an excuse for wiggling out of such an encounter. Which is another sign that the old man of Mar-a-Lago is worried.

For one thing, the issue of age now cuts the other way. Trump is the oldest individual ever nominated by a major party for president. He’s older than President Ronald Reagan was when he finished his second term.

The last point is actually quite pertinent now - I believe that Trump is the oldest candidate to ever run for president, he probably knows it, and he'll be scrambling (or panicking) to come up with any sort of response.

It's going to be a very interesting Democratic convention next month indeed!

Side note - according to CNN, Harris's campaign ended up raising $81 million in the first 24 hours. I wonder how well Trump did, by comparison?

The Republicans REALLY don't want Trump to run against Kamala Harris.

The Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson said it's illegal for the democrats to switch nominees, and he'd bring legal actions.

in some of the states there are impediments to just switching someone out like that.

14 million people went through the process and chose this nominee Joe Biden.

Now a handful of people have gotten together and decided he's no longer suitable.

That's not how this system works.

They are violating Democratic principles and I think that's a real problem and I think there'll be a lot said about that in the days ahead

No, the attempted coup by the Republicans in 2020 was illegal. Trump asking governors to "find votes" after certification was illegal. There are no states court enforced laws around nominations.

As I mentioned before, the US constitution and founding documents make absolutely no mention of political parties. Quite the opposite, George Washington, the first president, came out against the idea of political parties but couldn't stop it because, again, it's not a legal issue.

There are state laws, but they are weak. Party rules can not be tried in a court.

From Wiki:

Several third parties also operate in the U.S. and occasionally have a member elected to local office
