Maybe it's time the US increases tax and closes tax loopholes on billionaires, and eliminate unlimited dark money PACs, like the 1950's, MAGA's good old days.

The Guardian: Trump ground game operation now largely run by Elon Musk-backed group

Donald Trump’s ground game operation in crucial battleground states is now largely outsourced to America Pac, the political action committee backed by the billionaire Elon Musk, according to multiple people familiar with the situation.

The Trump campaign gambled with its voter turnout efforts for the 2024 cycle and outsourced it to Super Pacs, while it targeted its focus on turning out Trump supporters in rural areas who typically do not vote.

But while the Trump campaign once predicted having multiple Pacs doing get-out-the-vote work, with six weeks until the election, only America Pac has a material presence of 300 to 400 paid and part-time people knocking on doors in each of the seven battleground states, the people said.
...
if Trump wins, it could be in part thanks to Musk, who has articulated wider political ambitions – he recently pitched to Trump to serve in his cabinet in a second term – and resultantly have outsized influence with Trump.

The America Pac ground game operation was slow to get started after it scrapped its initial plans, and only started hiring employees at a rapid clip last month.

But it has since exploded in size. By retaining canvassing vendors for each battleground state, America Pac’s operation now involves hundreds of paid and part-time employees to knock on doors in an unusually aggressive get-out-the-vote effort, the person said.

The Guardian: Rudy Giuliani disbarred in Washington DC over role in Trump election plot

Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who built a career as an uncompromising crime-fighter, has been permanently disbarred from practising law in Washington DC in a ruling stemming from his role in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Donald Trump’s favour.

The decision came in the form of a one-page order issued by the US capital’s court of appeal and followed a similar order issued in July in New York, Giuliani’s home state.

More on Trump's rallies - remember he's accused Harris of paying people to attend hers:

Also: an interesting look at why people vote for Trump, even if they're not necessarily full-on MAGA:

It's extensive, and basically a very long series of quotes and facts.

Trump would have absolutely never, ever read this.

The people who put it together obviously have American English as their primary language.

The two things that are unusual first is it's verbose and second "woke" is only used twice and that's contained in Vance's quotes attacking the "woke left". I would expect a piece created by the Trump campaign to use "woke" much more frequently.

Latest Bloomberg/MorningConsult polls have Harris in a good spot with the Blue Wall. along with good polls in arizona, nevada, NC and surprisingly Georgia still very much in play . Of course they are just polls, but what its consistently showing is Harris campaign still has multiple pathways.

Grass roots the Dems planned early, then there was the huge influx of volunteers who came out for Harris. If they can use that to convert that massive edge in the youth vote into votes made, along with trying to show why what she offers is better for the huge majority of folk, things might turn out really well. Not to mention reaching out to the millions of US citizens abroad to vote. But, they have to get all these positives converted into votes.

Harris has the Economy polls in a much better place, I wish they had done more sit down interviews on it comparing actual policies to "ideas" and comparing actual projected data. But hopefully they can do a few more sit down interviews given this is the time most people are starting to tune in.

I think she needs to make plain English statements now over what happened to the border bill and what she plans to do to fix it. I think she needs to get this out much more. It needs far more clarification on what occured, bite size sentences, convicting the Public manipulation and "lie" etc

If he wont do another Debate, then she needs to do more TV interviews.

I feel like this election is like a Twilight Zone episode after watching the Harris economy interview, which I think she executed with sound knowledge.

Harris comes out on TV, lays down a detailed election plan, clearly understands how economics work.

Why is nobody in media asking Don to explain the precision questions about exactly how his policies will work, not these broad ideas, but the macro economics behind his "ideas" ?

To be qualified, you need to know "some" economics, legals, domestic politics, foreign affairs etc....... why is only one candidate being asked to be Presidential ?

So I guess the US sorted healthcare, abortion, school shootings and Ukraine issues.

The independent:Harris pokes fun at Trump’s obsession with her McDonald’s job: ‘I did the fries’

Kamala Harris doubled down on her burger-flipping duties at McDonald’s during her college years, as Donald Trump continues to baselessly claim that the vice president is lying about her summer job.

Harris has repeatedly noted her brief stint at the fast food chain before her first law job in the 1980s since she ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket. If elected in the 2024 election, she’d make history as the first US president to have worked at McDonald’s.

A tetchy Trump, however, has repeatedly dismissed Harris’s employment as “fake.”

The vice president sat down with MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle in her first one-on-one network interview since she became the Democratic party’s presidential nominee, and at one point poked fun at the former president’s obsession with her days at the Golden Arches.

I think denial of reality is a requirement for following the Retrumplican path.  For example earlier this year the Florida legislature passed and de Santis signed into law changes removing anything dealing with climate change from state law.  I got this a few hours ago from a friend GTFO'ing Florida:

The Taylor County FL Sherrif's office told citizens "If you or someone you know chose not to evacuate, PLEASE write your, Name, birthday and important information on your arm or leg in A PERMANENT MARKER so that you can be identified and family notified.”

I doubt the law change will be rescinded after this, if anything de Santis will double down on his position.

You always bring a giggle to what is often a crazy situation.TY :-)

I dont have access to the bloomberg poll but this is Forbes summation Harris Leads In 6 Of 7 Battlegrounds In Latest Survey

But its razor thin to be fair. although on the RTWH Electoral College simulation based on polling avgs Harris is allocated 226EVs beyond the 5% margin of error with Don allocated 183; So now its down to who has the best grass roots campaign to get conversion to votes.

THe next Harvard survey in the US "Fall", of youth votes (<30yo) will be fascinating to see if Harris has increased the 31pt lead in the youth vote, especially with some young celebrity endorsements recently. I think its quite impressive for the youth to acknowledge there is more of a future in the Harris policies, for them, and perhaps they are less likely to fall for Trumpism.

Project 2025 mastermind allegedly told colleagues he killed a dog with a shovel: The Guardian

The man behind Project 2025, the rightwing policy manifesto that includes calls for a sharp increase in immigrant deportations if Donald Trump is elected, told university colleagues about two decades ago that he had killed a neighborhood dog with a shovel because it was barking and disturbing his family, according to former colleagues who spoke to the Guardian.

Kevin Roberts, now the president of the Heritage Foundation, is alleged to have told colleagues and dinner guests that he killed a neighbor’s pit bull around 2004 while he was working as a still relatively unknown history professor at New Mexico State University.

“My recollection of his account was that he was discussing in the hallway with various members of the faculty, including me, that a neighbor’s dog had been barking pretty relentlessly and was, you know, keeping the baby and probably the parents awake and that he kind of lost it and took a shovel and killed the dog. End of problem,” said Kenneth Hammond, who was chair of the university’s history department at the time.

Two other people – a professor and her spouse - recall hearing a similar account directly from Roberts at a dinner at his home. Three other professors also said they heard the account at that time from the colleagues who said they had heard it directly from Roberts.
...
News of Roberts’s alleged comments to colleagues comes as Trump, the Republican nominee for president, and his running mate, JD Vance, have engaged in a racist and false propaganda campaign to demonize Haitian immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio, by claiming that they have been killing and eating people’s pets. The xenophobic claims, which are probably meant to strengthen support among white, racist and anti-immigrant voters, have incited multiple bomb threats that have disrupted the Springfield community.

Project 2025, which was written by the Heritage Foundation under Roberts’s watch, has become a focal point of the 2024 presidential election as Democrats warn that its radical policy prescriptions – such as the eradication of the Department of Education and imposing further restrictions on abortion – will serve as a blueprint for Trump’s administration if he is elected.
...
To make matters worse, she recalled Roberts saying that the neighbor in question also had puppies and that he had considered killing them, too. Weisiger’s husband, who asked not to be named, recalled Roberts saying he had complained about the dog to the police, who were not responsive, and that the dog sometimes got into his yard.

Trump Is ‘Obsessed’ With RFK Jr.’s Sexting Scandal: Daily Best

Donald Trump has become “obsessed” with the sexting scandal surrounding his new ally Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi, according to a report.

The former president even called up the 70-year-old Kennedy—who’s married to Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines—to ask if the bombshell reports about him and the 31-year-old journalist were true, and if the relationship ever went beyond the sending of “demure” nudes, according to Puck News.

“[Kennedy] denied the whole thing to Trump,” a source with direct knowledge told the outlet. “He said he hardly knows her. He said he met her one time.”

Trump was also apparently close to making a public statement about the alleged digital dalliance, having “almost posted to Truth Social, his social media platform, ‘My condolences to Ryan Lizza…’” according to the Puck report. Lizza, a Politico journalist, ended his engagement to Nuzzi last month after learning of her relationship with Kennedy, according to Vanity Fair.

Trump apparently exercised more restraint than his adviser, Corey Lewandowski, who tweeted and then later deleted his own post sharing the Kennedy gossip.

Nuzzi had interviewed Trump for a piece published earlier this month
