'We could not possibly have foreseen that dropping an unguided 2000 pound bomb into the general area of a crowd of refugees might cause collateral damage when it fell off target. I mean, yes obviously the target was in the middle of the crowd of refugees, and it was the largest bomb we have in our general inventory, but I ask you, what could we have done differently? Used a small precision guided weapon? Maybe just not attacked that target at all? Come now, be reasonable.'

He is certainly not alone.
This is Bezalel Smotrich, the Minister of Finance, one of the most senior roles in the government. Here he is giving a speech and the image on the lectern is a map of 'Greater Israel', showing an Israel that includes all of the Palestinian areas, parts of Lebanon, Syria and what appears to be almost all, or all of Jordan.
He doesn't just want to occupy Gaza, he wants it all.
He lives in a settlement in the West Bank (of course) and he is the leader of a political party with 10.83% of the vote in the most recent Israeli legislative elections.

The guy you quoted from that "Occupying Gaza" article would probably be considered a moderate.

BBC: “I don’t think that Israel or its emissaries should be using blackmail and threats against a prosecutor in the court in The Hague, which the Jewish people were key to establishing after the Holocaust in world war two. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

Unfortunately yet more evidence of Netanyahu's approach to governance which has long moved outside the boundaries of the state and it's institutions and undermined it.
umm, you think this is the first time that any country's foreign intelligence arm has done this?
CIA, KGB, Mossad, etc etc etc, have been doing this every day since before you were born and have eliminated targets and overthrown governments since before my parents were born

Netanyahu brought in a former chief outside the service and sent him off as a 'special envoy'. The fact that another former chief thinks this action and the methods employed were far beyond anything acceptable should ring alarm bells.
the CIA does that all the time, hiring "contractors". these "contractors" are what the series Mission Impossible are based on.
these "contractors" are all ex-intelligence with contacts and special clearance far beyond what you would imagine, and are not bound to internal operational policies and national legislation which is why they are used.
but you don't hear of them speaking out, other than this instance.
but i agree, nobody likes Netanyahu, even contractors are speaking out!
maybe the even the Mossad doesn't agree with him, but make no mistake the Mossad are as ruthless as KGB (now FSB), i can assure you they will do everything in their abilities to protect their nation.

let me qualify though - their enemies are no better, if not much much worse.
also reminder - this is a 6,000 year war between relatives and neighbours
