Being woken by my cat in the morning he'd be so peeved if I died in the night so he's extra smoochy when I wake up and pat him

The way my dog is always so excited to see me when I pick her up for custody visits.

Makes my day every time.

Smell of fresh air stepping outside

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

1. The smile on my daughter's face when she sees me first thing in the morning.  Unalloyed pleasure.

2. Related to #1, when said daughter goes to sleep peacefully at night with no fuss or tantrums.

3. Things that just "work" (not exclusively technology, but most often gadgets, etc that surprise by doing exactly they should, or what you need them to do, first time perfectly).  I've heard this described as "frictionless magic".  It's a rare thing, so always puts a smile on my face when it happens.

4. Fixing something for myself.  Makes me feel useful and grown-up.  For instance, solving an ear-piercing screech from the car wheel last night with some good old-fashioned manual labour.

My children...still young enough to say "I love you", but old enough to mean it and understand what it means...

The taste of fresh water after you've been for a swim in the sea. Love that.

1. Watching my 10 year old son playing XBox Skate 3 dressed up as a T-bone steak or toilet on the skateboard !

2. Listening to him helping others learn a new game on the XBox.

3. Most importantly, listening to him telling some of the older online kids "not to swear" and "that there is no need for it" ............ only to be shortly followed up by him shouting out "BUGGER!"

My nearly 2 year old smiling because he hasn't seen you in a while.  Speaking of which, it's about time to head home.  That ain't half bad either!

My mechanical keyboard.  Using anything else just feels wrong now.
