Jaxson: Big non event?
ANZ are picking up most of the superior National Bank systems, both public and internal. Basically it's good news for most ANZ customers, and business as usual for National Bank customers. ANZ have owned the rights to National Bank for many years now anyway.

The only thing I care is....I prefer the Horse Logo rather ANZ's cheap color and logo. LoL.

Google Images?

Is it really even worth a discussion if you're going to pick a bank based on a logo?

I associate the horse with Lloyds. A failed UK bank that is once again struggling to raise capital. It also looks like the billions of pounds the UK Govt bailed it out with are also unlike to be repaid.

It's hardly surprising ANZ don't want a brand associated with failure.

I do too.
I also associate horses with dog food, so the knacker's yard is the place for it Smile.

To a point I agree with you, however the National bank has not had any association with them for many years, and well before the GFC, and the english bank was not called the national bank. Also I think the majority of NZers wouldn't see any association as it, as it is bank on the other side of the world that they have no idea about. But that link is one of the reasons they are getting rid of the brand ub BZ, but I think it is a weak reason, as that was now a long time ago. Brands do survive bad news. I believe the BNZ got bailed out by the NZ gov, yet that brand is still alive and strong today, albeit ozzie owned.

Well the switch is almost done, and having just logged into the new ANZ Internet Banking (ANZ Customer) I'm impressed with the aesthetics and ease of use so far. Stopped paper statements for an account, updated some details and transfers are good too.

Makes me miss ASB internet banking just a little less. We'll see if I can go back to being self sufficient re Banking once again.

I can now also use the National Bank's Android APP with my ANZ CRN while I wait for GoMoney to finally arrive.

The NB android app though is buggy. Whenever I first login I get a coding error. It is only on the second attempt does it work. Not as good as the iphone app they have.

Looks like the 'new' ANZ online banking is just the old national bank one, with different colours and branding. It wasn't great then, as often bank mail was down.

I'll have to give it ago over the next few days, but having loged into twice so far, it worked 1st time on both occasions for me. Even the internet site works better on my HTC One X (Chrome), so I'm happy either way really, but it's good to finally have an App option after coming from ASB.

ANZ's M Banking just doesn't do it for me.

I was pretty sad when I went to the National Bank site and it said I had to use the ANZ site. the design is the same as NB's was but I don't like the colours on ANZ, there is too much white.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up that the app was working.

I really miss the 'cash tank' app from Westpac.  That thing had limited functionality, but I used it heaps.

Yes, the new ANZ banking website looks good so quite happy with that.  I believe the staff will be stoked once they see the National Bank systems in the ANZ banks too.

There seems to be no iPad app anymore, shame. The national bank one was rather good, should not have been that hard to update it.

ANZ Phone banking lady has been replaced with a rather perky guy. Unlike before the reading of numbers (account values etc) now seems very disjointed.

Hope the tone him down a little as it gets annoying after a while.. hes SOOOOO happy.

I find it weird how central phone banking is with ANZ.  Like I ring up for help and have to head off to log into phone banking despite talking to someone real at ANZ at the time.  I thought phone banking was some relic of the 90s/2000s or so that only grandparents used now.

Phone banking is used to authenticate callers, it's far simpler than asking users 20 security questions.
