nate:

I would swap based on the offer, not on who the bank is.

I have bank accounts with all the major banks (long story) and had a friend recently ask me who the best is.

My reply: none. They are all bad, just bad in different ways.

The experience you have with a bank is often determined to a large extent by the skills, personality and experience of the person you deal with, and the personal relationship you have with them - rather than with the bank as a whole.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

i can relate my experience. A year ago I switched from Westpac to ANZ. I find ANZ to be pretty good for everyday, personal, banking including the mortgage I have on my second property. Sadly, I couldn’t recommend Westpac, who have really gone backwards in the last 5 or so years.

We are still looking at options.

TSB were a bit of a disappointment. Offered us $500 to stay with them. Suspect they may change their tune when we have a deal on the table.

Agree, I have no loyalty to the banks, same as @freitasm, when we got our first mortgage our bank we had been with for 10+ years refused to give us a mortgage. They lots out on a mortgage as well as all the insurances etc we had with them.
