It’s working with me at-least now (iOS, Safari). Perhaps try again? Also remember this is the first week with their major network migration so there is likely a chance non essential stuff like this may break while prep work / work is done.

Still no luck. Tried with different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Firefox Mobile). This has been happening for me since they rolled out the feature last month, but I didn't revisit it until now. I can wait until after the migration if it really does occur in the next couple of days.

Has anyone had success adding their rDNS on this page?

Yes, I added a record on this past Saturday (25/11) and it was showing on my account when I looked yesterday - see my earlier post. Whether what I put in is correct well..?? It was working as expected though so maybe I did right :-)

Slight update:

I can add ipv6 records, just not Ipv4.

I also noticed an error displayed on my product page that might be causing it(High degree of speculation though)

Error says: Input validation failure

Same here, looks like it's limited to just the IPv4 records.

I don't get this error on the Product Detail page though.

Do you think this is worth putting a ticket in for? The ticket interface is designed in a way that implies it's for LFC faults specifically, with the potential cost acting as a deterrent. Since this appears to be a fault with their web interface I'm not sure what procedure a customer should take to notify them.

I don't have an urgent need for this, so I'd much rather let them focus on the core network upgrade as the packet loss is driving me crazy atm(Mostly because my kids are playing games affected by it)

If it is a big issue for you might be worth telling someone @Quic just not sure how

I've had that input validation failure message since the day I joined Quic. Seem to recall someone on here said it was due to the different LFC systems (I'm on Tuatahi).

Hi there. Could someone post a URL to *exactly* where the rDNS set up is in the portal? Can't for the life of me find it. I have in the past - maybe just by taking pot shots where I thought it might be but cannot seem to locate it now. TIA

Here; https://account.quic.nz/index.php?m=DNSManager3&mg-page=RDNS

You need a static ip to access it.

Crayphish:

Hey guys,

I am trying to setup an rDNS record for our static IP as Microsoft (Outlook) is having a whine that the address range isn't in their junk mail reporting system and rejecting emails. To get on this list, MS do an rDNS query on the IP address to determine 'authorized' mail addresses to send to, so I need to setup rDNS so my domain's abuse email is included in their auth check (at the moment, quic's ones are included).

However, whenever I try to add an rDNS record on the dashboard "Manage rDNS" page, the Confirm button responds by spinning for half a second then reverts with no error. No record is added and the "Add PTR Record" box remains on screen. Clicking confirm multiple times does the same thing.

Has anyone had success adding their rDNS on this page?

I had been facing the same issue for a very long time—basically since I joined. I couldn't get this to work, but I finally managed to add it and found the trick to sort it out for now. Maybe it will help others and help @quic notice the fix.

Essentially, I checked the error in the Browser's network monitor tab and saw the response when I submitted the rdns record for my static IP. I checked the response received was the form validation error.

I then checked the submitted form information and noticed the field [ip_from_block] was being sent empty.

So I copied the request and manually submitted via curl where I entered the static IP in the form field and voila, I got the success message. I confirmed the field started to show up in the web portal as well.

I am pretty sure all Quic needs to do is to change the form validation if the IP is IPv4 as the field [ip_from_block] only applies to IPv6

Did you try with the above method I shared before? Try by copying the request when you submit from your browser,'s Network tab, then edit it to fill your IP manually in the field [ip_from_block] within the request and try if that works.

Just cut over to quic yesterday and even got IPv6 working(yippe!).

Trying to setup my rDNS and it's failing due to it not liking my TLD.

It's not the invalid validation, it's an invalid domain.

Anyway I can force it to accept it?

Happy to share details in a PM if needed.
